Teleport Ring (Vanilla)

Description
This mod adds a ring that will let you teleport to several locations in Skyrim from ANYWHERE (make sure you will not be breaking a quest when you teleport), and record the last place you've teleported from. This is instantaneous, unlike fast travel.

For those with Hearthfire, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn installed use Travel Ring Open Cities instead.

I made this for myself as I get annoyed when I can't fast travel from inside mines or dungeons, or if there are enemies nearby. I also didn't like the fact that fast travel took game time, as my mage should have some magical instant travel ability.

This has been done by people in other mods already; I just wanted to make my own version.

TELEPORT ENABLED LOCATIONS:
Skyrim Cities
Dawnstar
Falkreath
Martharth
Morthal
Riften
Solitude
Whiterun
Windhelm
Winterhold

Skyrim Town's
Dragon Bridge
High Hrothgar
Ivarstead
Karthwasten
Riverwood
Rorikstead
Shor's Stone

Skyrim Standing Stones
Apprentice
Atronach
Guardian
Lady
Lord
Lover
Ritual
Serpent
Shadow
Steed
Tower

Obtaining:
The ring is located round the back of Breezehome in Whiterun inside a chest.

BUGS:
1: I have not done anything about followers. They just teleport to the local fast travel point, unless one doesn't exist.

2: Be careful not to teleport when a quest requires you to be trapped. This WILL cause a crash, especially if it is a scripted opening scene like the attack on Helgen.

3: Using the ring to travel to a place you haven't visited yet has now been blocked. However, you still need to be careful not to travel to locations that have been blocked by a quest (i.e. when you attack Windhelm or Whiterun)

4: To get Update 3.2 working if you were using earlier versions, you must remove and then add the ring via the console. For some reason, Skyrim will not update the scripts attached to items in your inventory. This means you need to press the "~" key and type (with the quotes): help "Teleport Ring" and then using the eight hexadecimal number this shows type: player.removeitem xxxxxxxx 1 and then player.additem xxxxxxxx 1 where the x's are your number.Dropping and picking up the ring might also work to update the scripts, but as it isn't 100% I mention the above method.

Incompatible Mods:
Any open world or city mod that changes the location of a city or other game location.
I don't recommend using this ring with multi-ring mods as the "un-equip" part of the script can do strange things to other equipped rings.

UNINSTALL:
1: Make sure your game is saved inside a building.
2: Drop the ring out of your inventory.
3: Unsubscribe from the mod in the workshop.
4: Reload the save you just made and save your game again.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. I was so frustrated with the telporting mod, I stopped playing for a while!

Yes I has about 20 other mods installed and they all appear to be working just fine.
I wasn't aware, until now about using the console to check if the mod was activated, I'll try that soon. Thanks for responding to my cry for help. TBC!!!!

Do you have other mods that are working?
nogare321  [author] 19 Jan, 2017 @ 7:57pm
Ok, Just a check. You are using the SE version of the mod and game? The one where you have to start skyrim SE and log into Bethesda to enable or disable mods? Are you using the PC version of skyrim se? If yes open up a save file with the mod enabled and activate the console by pressing the '~' key. With the console open type the following: help "Teleport ring" if nothing comes up the mod is not activated or downloaded correctly.

I see the pic, showing where the chest should be, but I've never seen the chest in the game. As far as I can tell the mod is properly loaded. It shows up in my library with a check mark, as do all the other mods I've added.

Additional info to my cry for HELP. I downloaded the mod version found in the special edition add mod list popups, so I hope that is the correct version to be used.

The SE version of this should have a picture displayed in the mod selection screen that shows where the chest is located. Inside the chest is a book you need to read. Owning the home is not needed. If the chest hasn't appeared it may mean you haven't actually set the mod to load.

HELP!!! I am playing the special edition and I just added this mod. My problem is the ring is not located in a chest around back of Breezehome, at least not for me. Is there more to getting the chest to appear with the ring? I own the home.

That is the main reason I made it. That and the fact it gets boring trudging back and forth between some of the towns for minor quests.

It's proving to be extremely handy for teleporting back to my houses when I'm almost overburdened.

Glad to hear it is working.
