Decreased Damage (D+NE)

In 1 collection by SomethingRetarded
Some Retard's Difficulty+ Nightmare Edition and Standalone Addons
4 items
Description
You do not need Difficulty Plus (Nightmare Edition) for this to work, but it was built for it. The damage is only decreased relative to Nightmare Edition, which means that without it your damage will actually be increased.
With that being said, if you do not want to use Nightmare Edition, then be sure to get Damage Cap Begone! if you want anything to deal more than 1,000 damage.

This is mostly for those whom want to play Nightmare Edition, but want combat to take longer.
This is also compatible, but not recommened to be used, with Difficulty+.

Do not use this with: Decreased Damage (D+) or Increased Damage, as they will just overwrite eachother and you will have mods fighting for priority.

How did I miss this comment? Sorry for the really late comment, but in the levelingmultipliers.functions.patch file, there are a series of values for weapon and monster damage. Decrease those values for less damage. Decreasing them both by half will result in everything dealing half damage.

Only a small handful of my Difficulty+ addons actually increase the difficulty. Those are Difficulty+, Difficulty+ (Nightmare Edition), and All Item Drop. Difficulty+ and Difficulty+ (Nightmare Edition) increase difficulty by decreasing the artificial health advantage (think about it like artificial difficulty, but taking the opposite extreme) the player has over everything else (most NPCs have half the player's health, not to mention the very tiny amount of health monsters have especially on lower tier planets) to level the playing field between the two (amongst other things, such as more consistency between tiers).
[had to make two posts because of the 1000 character limit]

I made this because a few people were wanting damage to be decreased from the current values that it is in Difficulty+ and Nightmare Edition. Also this does not just affect the player but all monsters and NPCs as well, which dosn't artifially increase the difficulty (it just makes combat take longer). (Though in practice, this will also make combat a little less predictable for various reasons, such as there being more opportunities for the player to be hit).

Making the player deal less damage only adds artificial difficulty. This is NOT the proper way to make a game more difficult.
