Update 1.20 - Demi-Heroes

Welcome back fellow player! I hope you are enjoy this mod as much as I am making it.

This patch brings us two new heroes.

Lieutenant - this demi-hero serves the function of proving a small combat boost to adjacent units as well as generating some influence from defeated enemies. He is not as tough nor as strong as a captain but may be exactly what you need to push forward early or support a flank.

Venerable Dreadnought - this hero entombed in a Dreadnought sarcophagus is an upgraded dreadnought. While the slight upgrades to toughness and damage may not seem much, the true potential of this war machine comes from the capacity to equip it with items.

Other changes.

*Hunter Redux - I’ve long pondered how to make this unit worth-while. Especially for Iron Hands who have Predator Annihilators that, when upgraded, can tear through armor of Flyers with ease. By the late game the Hunter is competing in the crowded space on the front lines and they simply lack the punch against flyers to justify their presence. As such I thought...what if we give them more range?

The Hunter has been given a range of 4 vs flying unit. You can still attack ground targets but through an action button at the usual range of 3. This ensures that it’s overwatch attack target only flyer units. The Hunter’s Savant Interlocution has been changed from providing a +2 accuracy bonus to a +33% vs flyers, when adjacent to another hunter. Unit cost has been increased to 50req/2.5req-per-turn.

*Sternguard Veterans Research removed.

*Vanguard Veternas Research renamed “Veteran Space Marines” and grants access to both Vanguard and Sternguard Space Marine units.

*Fixed an issue where the AI stopped producing units.

*Fixed Hearts of Iron bionic upgrade not applying to units.

*Sternguard Veterans cost reduced from 40req/40inf to 30req/30inf (1.5/1.5 upkeep).

*Terminators and Assault Terminators cost reduced from 60req/60inf to 60req/40inf (3req/2inf upkeep).

*Removed Calculated Fury trait from Devastators. This was accidently left from beta version. Calculated Fury is applied via tactics panel.

*Savant Interlocution, Convergent Targeting, Line Breaker Bombardment icon and description fixed.

* Hearts of Iron bionic upgrade now gives +1HP per unit.
* Reduced cost of Bionic Upgrades
* Mercy is Weakness bonus against broken and shaken units reduced by half. Deployment cost reduced by half.

* Krack granades fixed for Librarian
* Assault and Devastator Doctrine description text fixed
* Savant Interlocution fixed for Hunter
* Convergent Targeting fixed for Thunderfire Cannon
* Line Breaker Bombardment fixed for Vindicator

* Overwhelming Force now applies +15% productions, up from +11%

* Krack grenades no longer show up as Frags for Devastators, Vanguard and Sternguard
* Relics of Medusa now apply the correct 50% bonus to The Flesh is Weak and Hearts of Iron, rather than 500%

Update 1.1 - BIONICS

Thank you to everyone for your amazing response to this humble project! Your support is so appreciated. To celebrate 200 subs and 25 five star reviews I give you the 1.1 update which brings new features, fixes and balance changes. Here is what you can expect:

* Bionics Augmentations - similar to Tau and Chaos unit buffs these upgrades are cast from the Tactics bars at the cost of influence. As Iron Hand warriors level up they obtain Bionic Augmentation Slots which makes them eligible for corresponding upgrades, these augmentations are unlocked through research.

* Relics of Medusa - T10 - improves bionic augmentations of Heroes and veterans by 50%.

* Combat Doctrines - T1 - The Assault, Tactical and Devastator doctrines have been removed. Combat Doctrine now gives a 10 turn bonus of +1AP to all weapons of their type. Only one doctrine can be active at a time.

* The Iron Hands now have 4 thematic Tactics.
** Overwhelming Force: 11% bonus to all production
** Calculated Fury: +1 accuracy to heavy weapons
** Mercy is Weakness: double damage bonus against broken and shaken enemies
** Relentless Advance: Machine Empathy renamed

*Angles of Death removed. This suite of traits was simply too powerful to give for free. Plus, Give No Quarter and Bolter Discipline have a Dornish vibe to them.

*Shock Assault is now available as T4 research.

*Iron Hands start with Armory and must research Apothecarium.

*Mechanized moved to T3

*Razorback increased armor to 8 and hitpoints to 30. Now costs 50 req and 2.5req/turn. Researcher moved to T2.

*Methodical Firepower: T6 research that allows Devastators to move and fire without penalty or obtain a +2 accuracy bonus if stationary.

*Iron Father, Ironstone now gives a +17% Invulnerable save to adjacent vehicles. Iron Resolve now gives +17-33% invulnerable save for 1-3 turns.

*Duty Eternal now gives -1 flat damage reduction as such it is more effective against multiple attacks. Moved to T7.

*Killshot fixed for Predator Annihilator, now only applies to main gun.

*Fusilade trait added to the Predator Destructor, +33% damage against infantry , only applies to the main gun.

* Predator Auto Cannon reduced to 4 attacks from 5.

*Relic Blades reduced to -4AP from -5AP.

*Sternguard and Vanguard production requirements should now correspond to their cost.

*Sternguard moved to T7

*Terminators moved to T8
*Vanguard moved to T5

*Removed Recruitment World trait. It just wasn’t interesting and I had to cut tech-tree bloat.

*Krack grenades for Devastators fixed.

*HQ lascannon now twin-linked.


*Cluster Mines removed.

*Hammer of Wrath removed (Shock Assault is the replacement).

*Scout Bikers now start with Saboteurs trait giving +25% damage vs Vehicles and Fortifications.

*Additional Heavy Bolters renamed to “Additional Armaments” to take into account Predator Annihilator lascannons.

*Added/tweaked a whole bunch of fluff/description texts.

*Increased radius of some city buildings models.

*Increased size of Headquarters model.

*Slightly increased radius of Fortress of Redemption model.
