beta v42:

  • Reaper tweaks. Redid the knife tree and the utility tree. Knife tree got a new perk, and utility tree was changed into a stealth/flanker themed tree as a counterpart to the top tree that focuses on shooting through cover and at previously damaged units.

  • Vektor rifle crit damage reduced to that of assault rifles. The Vektor rifle is very powerful with its +10 aim and extremely high crit, so this tones it back a a bit.
  • Throwing knives gain additional crit damage at mag and beam (now 2/4/6 instead of 2/3/4). Mag throwing knife has +1 ammo base, and beam throwing knife has +2 ammo base. This will help boost the knife builds later game where they fall off.
  • Chaining Jolt is now turn ending (as it was intended to be).
  • Focus bar is now hidden on specialists that take Chaining Jolt (it's used for the jumping mechanic similar to how Chain Lightning works).
  • Infiltrating squads can no longer have their soldier's loadouts edited using the squad management window.
  • Fixed localization for Templar shield crit resistance.
  • More fixes to attempt to stop multi-stage missions from granting items they shouldn't.

  • Specialist tree tweaks again.
  • CPL and SGT ranks swapped
  • Combat Protocol moved to Squaddie
  • Blinding Protocol moved to LCPL
  • Chaining Jolt added to the missing spot that's at SGT now.
  • Rebels that aren't in the starting region will now default to hiding.

Beta V41 - Lib3 bug is gone :crab:

  • Lib3 mission now properly resets after expiring
  • New mechanic for lib3: each time you detect it and let it expire, detection chance gets boosted by 15% for the next cycle, stacks (e.g. if you spot it twice with bad timers, 3rd detection attempt will have 1.32x)
  • The "Destroy Relay" / sabotage transmitter Lib3 mission types now reward an intel package/POI to make them slightly better, while dark VIP type still rewards the +1 contact.
  • Removed one boss unit from the earlier CAD. There will only be one boss type unit (sectopod, gatekeeper, hive queen) on the first CAD.
  • Fixed some bad gamestate handling that might have been the cause of the "stuck" psi ops in tubes.
  • Added better handling to ensure units start healing post mission.
  • Chosen weapons can no longer be inspired.
  • LW's diversity system now respects tech requirements, for proper compatibility with Choose Your Aliens.

beta v40:

  • fixed broken jail door on recently redone parcel.
  • Packmaster now properly applies to Skullmine ability, and added config to add further abilities to Packmaster charge increase.
  • OPTC the Soldier VIP config instead of config it since config doesn't work to raise its mobility.
  • Clean up Psi Amp damage config to improve mod compatibility.
  • Add more VIP icons for the updated after battle loot screen.
  • Updated the integrated Encounter List Cleaner mod to also clean up premade encounters.
  • Swapped Paramedic for Will To Survive on Reaper XCOM deck since they have Paramedic in the main tree.

  • Bring in the LW2 functionality for showing the status of multiple VIP units from one mission on the after mission loot screen.
  • Disabled the Covering Fire ignore cover bonus from applying to PrimaryReturnFireShot. Since Avenger and Return Fire now ignore 100% of cover from the hit calc, Covering Fire stacks with that, and the shot already functions like Covering Fire anyways.
  • The VIP Soldier unit template is now set to 15 mobility instead of 12. Now your rookies can actually run on jailbreaks.
  • Small tweaks to the spawn zones on wilderness HQ maps to ensure the line of play (and thus the pod patrols) isn't in some dumb position.

  • Swapped base game Heavy Ordnance for a new one that actually works when given to grenade launchers.
  • Priest Stasis (the attack, not the sustain) can now be interrupted by covering fire/CCS/bladestorm.

beta v39:

  • More tweaks to the XCOM decks, shuffling some more perks up for more diversity and some fun potential alternative builds, such as Slug Shot for Technical, and returning some grenade perks to the Reaper, and bringing the improved Return Fire and Avenger to more classes.
  • BETA highlander update allows removing the conflict with Instant Avenger Menus. If you use Psi ops, you'll want to use the BETA Highlander now. I've updated the requirements to call out the BETA Highlander until it moves out of beta.
  • Hunter's Tracking Shot now can ignore Spark Sacrifice, done to prevent a loop where the Hunter gets infinite free shots because Sacrifice absorbs them.

Beta V38:

  • Complete rework of all XCOM decks for all classes. Instead of having 4 decks, classes now have 7, one for each rank. Complete review/shuffle of all XCOM deck perks to go with this. The number of perks have been reduced, meaning less filler and more fun perks.
  • XCOM perk cost is now 10/10/15/20/25/30/35 instead of 10/10/20/20/30/30/40. Defensive perks will be cheaper than the offensive ones due to the relative power levels.
  • Psi Operatives now have XCOM decks and Pistol perks. Note that to allow this, LWOTC now has a conflict with Instant Avenger Menus until a Highlander update is made.

  • New perks added: Anatomy - +15 crit and +2 armor pierce on all attacks; Focused Defense - 20 def and 20 dodge against the closest visible enemy; Grapple Expert: +15 aim for Justice, Whiplash, and Wrath; Priority Target - +10 aim and +10 crit for ranged attacks against the closest visible enemy; Reconnoiter - free action use battlescanner on a 4 turn cooldown; Sensor Overlays - squad gains +10 crit against all enemies the unit can see.
  • Avenger and Return Fire now ignore the target's cover for the reaction attack.
  • Quickdraw now works again (making it work for autopistols broke it).
  • Layered Armor now properly caps attacks from abilities that have multiplicative damage modifiers.
  • Gunslinger range nerfed from 13m to 11m (1.5m per 1 tile).
  • Swapped LW Heavy Ordnance and Protector on the grenade launchers out for basegame Heavy Ordnance. Effect is the same, but now only one perk.
  • Fixed issue with Lost missions rarely spawning a solo Advent Officer onto the Lost team.
  • Adjusted one city center parcel so it now works with Smash n Grab missions, and rebuilt the lg_GeneClinic_01_LW parcel in an attempt to stop it from crashing for Linux users.
  • Chinese localization updates from Moonstone on discord.

  • Redid all Supply Raid maps to improve pod spawning/positioning
  • Second half of waterworld now has more LW enemies and not just the vanilla spawns.
  • Tweaked Pod Manager listener priority to hopefully fix some inconsistent behavior.
  • Added event listener for new proposed CHL hook to fix pods freezing when scouted.

  • Fixed issue with new Tandem HEAT warheads perk not preventing damage falloff properly.
  • Concussion Rocket, Shredder Rocket, and EMP Rocket now use Blaster Bomb targeting if Blaster Gauntlet is equipped.
