Beta v37

  • Complete Grenadier rework with new middle tree, updated xcom decks, and redone choices, along with several new perks.
  • Bonus grenade perks (Heavy Ordnance, Protector, Full Kit) are now granted by the grenade launchers themselves. Advanced Grenade launcher grants Heavy Ordnance and Protector, while Beam Grenade Launcher adds Full Kit on top. These perks just caused significant balance issues since extra grenades are so powerful, so now all builds have access to them via grenade launcher upgrades.

  • Sapper environmental damage buffed from 4 to 5.
  • Fortify cooldown reduced from 4 to 3.
  • Acid grenades reworked. Average damage is now 1.5/2 for acid grenade/bomb respectively, radius is now 4/5 (from 1/2), and rupture is now 2/3 (from 1/1). This gives them a new niche of AOE shred/Rupture application.
  • Beam Grenade Launcher and Blaster Gauntlet are now unlocked by Powered Armor research.
  • Fixed issue with Spectres using Horror while at 100% HP.

  • Chosen Hunter reaction moves have been shifted to less aggressive movement profiles, so he shouldn't yolo for flanks as much.

  • Propaganda activity changes: Vigilance increase decreased from 4 to 3, supply/intel rewards increased by 15%.
  • VIP mission max spawn vigilance changed from 6 to 8.

    Gunner tweaks:
  • Danger Zone moved to SSGT rank, and Iron Curtain moved to TSGT rank.
  • Iron Curtain targeting changed to a wider cone, 12 tiles long, 7 tiles wide at end.
  • Iron Curtain mobility debuff effect is applied even on miss, instead of needing to hit.

    Shinobi tweaks:
  • Tradecraft replaced with Untouchable at GSGT.
  • Evasive replaced with Disabling Shot at TSGT.
  • Low Profile replaced with Evasive at SSGT.
  • Hard Target replaced with Impulse at SGT.
  • Concentration moved from tier 3 to tier 4 xcom deck to replace Disabling Shot.
  • DFA moved from tier 2 to tier 3 xcom deck to replace Concentration.
  • Tradecraft added at tier 2 xcom deck, replacing Return Fire.
  • Low Profile added at tier 2 xcom deck to replace DFA.
  • Hard Target added at tier 1 xcom deck to replace Impulse.

  • Fixed issue causing Blacksite to spawn randomly instead of the proper distance from the starting region.

  • Swapped out Ever Vigilant for Dedication in the Sharpshooter's XCOM deck as Ever Vigilant doesn't work with Sniper Rifles.

beta v36:

  • New overhauled infiltration information panel in Squad Select, making the design much cleaner and more compact. Currently only localized in English. It can be disabled by changing USE_NEW_VERSION to false in XComLW_Overhaul.ini

  • Infiltration information UI improvements
  • Concealment type for mission now color coded. Green for start concealed, Yellow for Concealed needs % infiltration, and Red for Revealed Start.
  • Evac timer is color coded based on how many turns Evac will take relative to standard for the selected difficulty.
  • New UI tooltip for the "Boost Infiltration" button. Before boosting, you can see the infiltration % after the boost as well as estimated enemy activity after the boost.


  • Hunker Down no longer affects dashing melee since melee ignores cover, and LW's Hunker Down only works while in cover.

  • Enable infiltration info panel created by KDM which is much easier to read.

Added a new console command LWOTC_FixChosenKnowledgeForNewScaling
This will multiply the current chosen knowledge by x10 to adjust existing campaigns for the recent changes. ONLY USE THIS ONCE to fix an in progress campaign, it has no safeguards.
