Scythia Update!

Includes a Scythian flag design I made myself from a gold image of a Scythian rider.

Added new Scythian Nation (Localisation for French, German, Spanish country name & decision included).

Scythia can be formed by any Scythian (Eastern Iranian) primary culture nation except Afganistan.

Nations with primary culture Pashtun & Pamir can now also form the Mughals (including previous allowed cultures & restrictions still in place).

Nations with primary culture Pashtun, Pamir, Bactrian, Sogdian, & Chorasmian can now also form Persia (including previous allowed cultures & restrictions still in place).

Scythia does not yet have unique ideas or missions, but does have historical names and techs the ai will pick.

Scythia does not require admin 10 (as Persia does not either), but Scythia is challenging to form as the only non-custom nation able to do so at the present time is releasable Ossetia. Scythia is however, rewarding as the nation will be granted an enormous amount of permanent claims. See photo of these claims and the required provinces (shown as owned cores) for more details. These claims include both a large swath of the steppes the Scythians once dominated, the Dagestan, Shrivan, & Merv regions they contested with Iran, and some historical spots Scythians have settled or had seats of their power (see the claims in Western Iran, India, & Hungary for example).

Some new Parsi names have been added.

Some new Iranian & Scythian localised province names have been added.

Ossetia & Georgia are now historic rivals, to reflect the disputed territory they both have cores on.

Update: 1 Feb @ 10:27pm

Assyrian province names now apply to all Euphratean cultures, although this may change in the future when I add more province names.

Also I tidied up the mod's description

Update: 1 Feb @ 10:05pm

-General Changes-

Pamir & Pashtun have been moved to Scythian which is a stand-in for Western Iranian languages.

Chorasmian has been moved back to the Scythian group as well.

2 provinces have been switched to Kazakh to reflect the Qarakalpak culture, which is a fusion of Kazakh & Nogai, but is a little closer to Kazakh.

I also added some new Armenian dynasty names and some new names to the Ossetian & Scythian name pools.

Development of a few provinces were slightly increased in Central Asian cities in the Kazakh area to reflect their capital status.

Marv's development has been lowered.

Bug fix for Madagascar, sorry about that if anyone noticed no culture there, it is fixed as of now.

-Province Names Update-

Assyrian, Armenian, Georgian, Scythian, & Iranian.

Assyrian uses Assyrian names for many provinces, when none are applicable they use some Armenian names and Greek names in much of Greece & Anatolia

Armenia uses Armenian names for many provinces, when none apply they use Assyrian & Greek names for some provinces

Georgian is the same as above, but uses Georgian names instead of Armenian when applicable

Iranian & Scythian use many of the same names, with a few exceptions. I have tried to find the old names and spellings for many places, but there are some names I have constructed based on the history of the province's Scythians & Iranians. Consider these few odd names to be easter eggs for gameplay flavour. Sometimes we don't know what the ancient peoples called certain places, so in some cases I have made names using words in Persian, Old Persian, Avestan, & Sogdian. I did not do this with Assyrian, Armenian, or Georgian however.

Also I added one Arabic place name for Kayseri since it has an Arabic name variation.

-Old Culture Update 2-

(Again these changes have no effect in game at this time, they are pre-requisite changes I have to make)

Qeltu is replaced by South Iraqi Arabic in 1260 following the destruction of Baghdad in 1258

Some Oghuz Yabgu lands switched to Kazakh from Turkmeni prior to the game start, I have made this the case in the areas where they had their largest settlements

Marv switches to Turkmeni following Genghis Khan's destruction of it

Ganja switches from Mazandarani in c.1150 after continued Turcoman rule

Small patch to Old Culture Update 1

Update: 1 Feb @ 3:03pm

Old Culture Update 1

As of now you can't convert these provinces to original culture, but I am planning on making this possible normally or via missions, as of now you can see that they adopted the current culture in the province history. That said I have to do this in order to do the missions and converting abilities, so this update is a precursor to my planned implementation of this.

Several provinces now have dates in which the culture flipped (prior to 1444) this allows owners to switch the culture back to the "original culture" of said province. I have made a limit to these old culture updates (for the moment) being that roughly the provinces have to have switched to the 1444 culture within the last 500 years. I have made an exception in the Aramaic speaking Levantine coast, as a firm date on when it switched is unclear, but probably circa 850 as well as with Vaermland where I had already made this exception prior to this update.

The theme of this update was the North Levant, Armenia, & Anatolia

as such provinces with Assyrian, Babylonian (in Rakka, reflecting the Aramaic speaking Christians there prior to Timur's conquest around the region and other de-populations), Aramaic (Reflecting Western Aramaic speakers), Armenians, & Greeks (including Cappadocian & Pontic).

I have in the culture files done my best to approximate when they switched (for example Sivas became Turcoman closer to 1100, while Aydin would not until 1401 with Timur. You will not see this in game, but I felt it was more accurate if this mod is ever used in an extended timeline or otherwise.

More of these updates to come after some testing
