Agree with Dizzy Loeuy

Rather than creating a RimlaserGunplay.xml file that uses a PropDef that doesn't exist in Rimlaser and that generates an error if you don't use the Gunplay mod, wouldn't it be better to do it in a patch using <Operation Class="PatchOperationFindMod">?

This happens when you use Rimlaser without the gunplay mod. Might want to do a logic check for the other mod existing or not.

So, tribals can spawn with this so beware, i'm uninstalling for that reason lol, i would thought i would see the rimlaser actually spawn when i fight idk, rough outlanders at least

RimLaser patch so the basic lasers do BURN damage and not BOMB damage.

Still no update to fix the heavy laser minigun out of metal? I know we can add the category line ourselves, but if the mod updates then it reverts it.

The mounted heayy laser shows up as a neolithic Ranged Weapons research item. Possibly Rimlaser doesn't play well with one of my mods?

Could a decent modder here make a patch that changes these weapons to deal Burn damage?
Rimlaser is a fantastic mod, and I love laser lightshows during combat, but I'd like to be able to take more prisoners.

Been a hot minute but for anyone having issues with making the Heavy lLaser Minigun Turret out of anything other than rock, you need to edit the RimlaserTurrets.xml and add the line for Metallic as a category. Should look like this afterwads:

is it just me or when pawns fire at sleeping mechs the whole game lags like hell as they create the FX for the weapons hitting the floor and missing?

@gerewoatle: That was my conclusion as well. My question was more about design than implementation -- should lasers really do more damage to buildings than bullets?

@guy07000: That's because, IIRC, the damage type is "bomb" instead of the more normal "heat" or "bullet".

Doesn't seem like this is intended, but Rimlaser weapons have increased damage to buildings -- similar to frag grenades.

Building damage factor (passable) 200%
Building damage factor (impassable) 400%

i noticed Vanilla Weapons Expanded - Laser also uses Name="BaseLaserGun" could that cause issues? I am getting issues with persona bond forge versions of laser guns so maybe that is why

Oh yeah the sounds- that's gonna take time to update- for the bird mod I maintained I had to rewrite the XML for all the sounds. UGH! Why did they change that? Seems arbitrary.

hey guys, just so you know, the mod does kind of work for 1.4, it doesn't break the game or anything but the lasers will be invisible and no sounds.

can you please update to 1.4? this is such a great mod and there aren't many weapon mods out there that deal blunt damage. and blunt damage is really good against mechanoids as they have bad defense against those.

@iamlbmcol2 you can buy them from some traders. But also get them by deep drilling. The ground scanner finds them from time to time.

Can confirm rimlaser is not compatible with show draftees weapon, youll lose the games UI when making a caravan (or loading a pod) when someone has a rimlaser equipped (the gatling laser in my instance)

Very cool. You should make effects lights for party rooms that use the same or similar graphics.

Imagine a polychromatic laser light pulsing to the music from disco-mod (or just set to a specific animation pattern) that gives a mood buff to colonists, but like real effects lights/lasers costs a lot of power when on.

Or a set of multi-colored, wider light beams with partial transparency for non-laser effects lights.
Only ideas. Either way I really like your work here, AUTOMATIC.

Would this be an error of this mod, or of Show Draftees Weapon?
Every time I make a caravan or transport pod, with some specific pawns in it, the GUI gets destroyed and invisible, like freezes, as long as I have the colonist bar enabled.
There are a ton of these errors as long the colonist bar is enabled. After finding the invisible button down in the right corner to disable it, everythings back to normal.

I suggest getting this mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1241694757 to buy crystals. You can also get them from deep drilling, but you have to get lucky and scan them with the ground penetrating scanner first which can take ages if you're unlucky.

Is there a way to add the crystals to mining mods? I haven't seen a single crystal in any traders after years in game. A few pistols have dropped from raiders, but no crystals.

Can you add a Mk. II of the Laser Sniper Rifle? less warmup, less cooldown but can only be crafted and player only (Basically, it also have:
<generateCommonality>0</generateCommonality>
<generateAllowChance>0</generateAllowChance> )

And of course, the crafting requirements is doubled or tripled. Pls, Im really looking for player only faction weapon.
