Perpahs abilities don't appear because the knife normally doesn't have any?

Abilities from this mod are added to all soldiers as a bonus, they don't overwrite anything.

I meant to say Pistol slot (with the proficiency plugin)
and it overwrites all knife attacks with it's hand to hand ability
I'd personally like to have the knife overwrite the hand to hand ability not the other way around ^^;;

I've noticed a weird bug when using the sidearm mod and this mod-
when it has the knife equipped it won't become available to use

I just tested and it works fine, the melee vulnerability bonus damage is there.

The melee attacks don't seem to be registered as melee damage in the game. They don't get the melee damage bonus melee attacks against Sectoids usually get.

No, rocket launchers don't have anything to do with melee attacks, it doesn't make sense.

I don't use LWOTC, and like I said, I replicated this with only the highlander mods, hand to hand, and rocket launchers enabled. Does't mean it isn't something weird on my end, but it always happens when using the templar's rend and hand to hand's melee attacks even with no other mods active. Does the rocket launcher somehow use similar code or share any of it with melee abilities? That seems like the obvious culprit to someone like me who has no real idea how these mods actually work under the hood.

A lot of people mentioned lagging or crashing when performing melee attacks in LWOTC while using Rocket Launchers mod, but I could never replicate it.

Ok, so you're gonna love this. The conflict I'm finding is between this and your Rocket Launchers 2.0 mod. I made sure to test it multiple times and even reset my config folder for a fresh set up with only the highlanders (regular and alien hunters) and it still causes the delay. Could it be simply my PC setup somewhere? Possibly. And the pauses were much longer when I had more mods activated, but they were still noticeable and consistent on all melee attacks with both your mods enabled, and with one or the other disabled, there is no pause whatsoever. So again, I don't expect you to do anything about it unless the whim takes you, but I did want to report back so you were at least aware and in case anyone else wants to test and verify this isn't just an issue on my end.

Ok, gotcha. That makes sense. I've been modding this game since it came out and I swear I still learn like 5 new things every day I spend around here.

As far as the slowdown goes, I don't know if it's this mod for sure, but it did start happening around the time I enabled it. It could be unrelated and coincidental, but I'll troubleshoot it when I get a chance here in the next week and let you know if anything repeatable shows up. Not that I'd expect you to do anything about it, but just in case you want to note it for later or just so others can see it.

That flag is relevant if you use this ability as a soldier class perk for some class in XComClassData.ini. Then if the ability is marked as cross-class compatible, there will be a chance it will appear in the random XCOM abilities row for other classes.

I don't know what could be causing slowdowns.

I'm editing the ini file to my personal preferences and I was wondering what the parameter - "MELEE_IS_CROSS_CLASS_COMPATIBLE" does? I see it is set to false by default, curious if there was any change worth switching it to true for.

Also, I noticed someone else mentioned they had hang ups for a second when melee attacking while using LWOTC. I'm not using LWOTC, but I do get those hang ups. I'll look into when I get through some other mod testing, but I don't suppose you have any idea what kinds of mods or interactions could be causing that?

'Knockout' ability from - Interrogation And Recruitment

This doesn't add a 'Knockout' ability, does it? I've got a mysterious knockout ability showing up on my ability bar when standing next to a stunned enemy. It says it can knockout a stunned, panicked, or mind controlled unit. I have no idea where it's coming from. Nonlethal Combat mod author says it's not from their mod. Any ideas?

Just finished a campaign with about 280 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for making this, this got me out of so many hairy situations it's not even funny anymore. Turns out having a small practically-guaranteed melee attack that doesn't waste ammo and can get you behind cover is super useful!

I saw you answered but never implemented that feature. I was wondering if you ever intended to or if you could help direct me to add the ability to the Heavy Armors and remove the ability without those armors via other mods maybe?

Hehe I thought about the healing thing after I made that comment, can't believe I haven't tried that before with vanilla skills. I know RealityMachina's AP grenades utilize minus Pierce to decrease effectiveness against armor, so that's something to test in my next playthrough.

1) If you set negative damage attacks either will deal 0 damage or heal enemies, not sure which.
2) You can't just add new configuration, no.

Hello! Question time:

1) Can I set the base damage to zero or negative numbers without breaking the skills? e.g. If I set base damage to -1, and per-rank damage to 0.33, will my low rank soldiers do 0 damage but my Colonels do 2 damage?

2) Is it possible to mix and match the skill effects? For example, "Kick" has these lines:
KICK_MOBILITY_PENALTY = -8
KICK_MOBILITY_PENALTY_DURATION_TURNS = 1
KICK_MOBILITY_PENALTY_APPLY_CHANCE = 100

Would something like the below have any effect at all, or are they simply not recognized by your code?
KICK_AIM_PENALTY = -20
KICK_AIM_PENALTY_DURATION_TURNS = 1
KICK_AIM_PENALTY_APPLY_CHANCE = 100

Awesome mod... one of my favorites! Just the icon is kinda weird, would be better and more discernible to have an icon with a closed fist, showing the fingers side.

Maybe just use the icon from the Beatdown Skill mod, if both you and the author agree.

Which animations do I need to overwrite if I want a specific template to use a different anim? I wanted to use this on Playable aliens since most of them have already e..g window break animations which *could* work, but I haven´t been able to get them to work by replacing the individual melee ability animations.

Actually it is working now. I believe the issue is with the new Community Highlander v. 20 and not your mod itself. I load a lot of gameplay altering mods and I have to uncheck them in the Alternative Launcher, launch the game, exit, recheck them and then launch the game again for them to work.
