Thank you for creating this patch so quickly, looking forward to using it ;)

@Tivaaky1 Stellaris ver 3.0 renamed "random_planet" or "any_planet" to "random_galaxy_planet" or "any_galaxy_planet" so it bring issues.
I create new patch for 3.0, because "random_planet" doesn't work on Stellaris 3.0 and "random_galaxy_planet" doesn't work on Stellaris 2.8.

So try " Splinter Colony ver 3.0 patch ", the new patches. I am not sure about balance on Stellaris 3.0 yet, but at least there are not error, I think.

With 3.0 and 3.01 this mod no longer triggers, either using the Origin or a pop up as the game starts up -- neither happens and thus there is no splinter colony. Looking forward to this one being patched when you have a chance, thanks!

@Tivaaky1 It's odd, since I set patch note on English setting always. For example, the latest patch note is "Updated for PD Techno-Organic climate change (from Wet to Cold).".
About last a few update, much of they are "Planetary Diversity" related update.

Are there patch notes? curious what has been added in the last few updates, thanks!

@OldEnt Thank you for kindly words. I hadn't know about your Void Dwellers Expanded mod, but I am considering to use it.
OldEnt 7 Nov, 2020 @ 8:51am
How come I did not find this mod before? I used Amaryllis as a name for an ark of Technocracy of Man in my Void Dwellers Expanded mod. Looks like I need to do a lore rewrite because this mod is exactly what I was looking for.
If there are any issues with this mod I'd be happy to help fixing them, just poke me.

I haven't try playthrough, I think I fixed Void Dwellers issue. I hope there aren't any other issue around Stellaris 2.8, I do hope.

@Tivaaky1 Thank you for report. modify_species fix such homeworlder preference, at reast in Stellaris ver 2.7. I am figuring why it isn't fixed in ver 2.8...

With 2.8 when you have the Void Dwellers origin, the splinter colony is also Void Dwellers and no longer starts on a planet. Not sure how that might effect later events where lost groups usually start on planets, have not gotten that far in, just fyi. thanks!

Thank you very much!

@Tivaaky1 Updated. Now Ark descendants from Void Dwellers homeworld have planetary climate preference. Enjoy!
FebHare  [author] 5 Jul, 2020 @ 12:33am
@Tivaaky1 Life Seed and Void Dweller origins are being blocked, because they have climate preference issue. Non-egalitarian Chrysanthemum and Amaryllis descendants must live on low habitability planets and Hyacinth Merchant Caravan won't colonize on low habitability planet.

I will try to randomize climate preference. If it works, last generation, with planetary climate preference and without taboo against planetary dwelling, can be Ulysses colonists in Void Dweller country.

Would it be possible to allow us to use the Void Dweller origin with the split colony trigger system? Would be interesting to play an Earth so overwhelmed by the plague that they had to abandon the planet and live in space, and then in time as they expand, come into contact with their lost colony ships. Currently Void Dwellers have only 2 start systems they can use, precluding the use of this mod. Thanks!

@TurtleShroom Technically, none files are overwritten. When there are 2 Chrysanthemum empires (Chrysanthemum colony and CoM), Splinter Colony will remove human_2 country flag and randomize the latter, so "Ghosts of the Pasts" event chain won't be triggered.

While I rewrote the code, remove-human_2 feature has been implemented since the original. And it prevents contradiction between Splinter Colony event and "Ghosts of the Pasts".
TurtleShroom 9 Jun, 2020 @ 9:37am
NEVER overwrite something unless you have to do it.
FebHare  [author] 9 Jun, 2020 @ 4:40am
@105397 I checked "Ghosts of the Pasts" event chain in Expanded Events mod. While it is quite interesting, it contradicts with Splinter Colony story. It is about other six arcships (the Coriaria, the Persea, the Impatien, the Carpinus, the Hyacinth with different fate and the Chrysanthemum built different country).

So I am fine this mod blocks "Ghosts of the Pasts" event chain. If you want try 12 arkships game, it is easier to modify this mod on your local environment. Look at about line 975 (with comment "fallback for the case the homeworld is human_1 and has both it's splinter colony and CoM") on splinter_events_setup_v26.txt in event folder. Disabling this fallback will work.

This is my favorite mod and I love it but is there a way you can make it compatible with Expanded Events Ghosts of the Pasts event chain? I wanna use both but this mod currently overwrites it.
FebHare  [author] 6 May, 2020 @ 9:59pm
@TurtleShroom Yes, there is Splinter Colony Origin.
If you pick it and your empire met Splinter Colony conditions (like "isn't gestalt consciousness"), the whole event will start.
TurtleShroom 6 May, 2020 @ 11:57am
Is the Splinter Colony an Origin now? I really hope it is, or hope it will be!
FebHare  [author] 14 Apr, 2020 @ 8:34pm
I fixed the issue. Enjoy!
FebHare  [author] 14 Apr, 2020 @ 7:37pm
Thank you for the report. I'll check on the issue.
In Stellaris 2.5, the event and post-apocalyptic civic have work (I removed the survivor trait from Ark descendants species).
But I haven't run with post-apocalyptic Origin.
Starlight 14 Apr, 2020 @ 10:50am
Hi! I just tried this storyline with post-apocalyptic origin starting in Sol. I found the splinter colony on Deneb and both of their colonies, Sulis and Unity, were tomb worlds - without the survivor trait. It was a bit immersion breaking. I may restart and just pick the normal origin to see if that fixes things, but thought you should know.

@FebHare

I've actually just re-read through the description and seen that, about 5 seconds before I saw your reply... (facepalm)

Thanks for the reply all the same though man, can't wait to play with it!
FebHare  [author] 5 Apr, 2020 @ 8:07am
@Perry147

Origin version is available already. Pick "The Ulysses Initiative" origin and the whole event will start.
Perry147 5 Apr, 2020 @ 6:46am
Is there anyway this could be set up as an origin?
Kheeran 20 Mar, 2020 @ 4:04am
Thank you for the update, going to try it this morning.
