Major hotfix regarding issues with structs from other mods using CMF is out - I advice everyone to resubscribe for download
The most noticible thing is that Expanded Topbar Framework now works properly

@Nosfer no, the Netherlands wanted to peace out (and were partially occupied and blockaded) but couldn't because Italy had high war enthusiasm.

@Theoretician oh yeah, thanks for info, I know the guy who made it, we talk on modding discord from time to time
my mod is a bit of a different take though :) I made suggestion to PDX to add same modding capabilities to peace desire and capitulation desire by the way. We'll see, maybe they'll add it one day

@yg233976 @Nosfer There's a recent mod that got around the "war support can only drop below 0 with all war goals taken" thing by making countries capitulate at 0 war support and adjusting WS gain/loss to balance around that. Appreciate that's not the same aim as this mod, but it may be of interest and means wars don't require taking every last tiny wargoal.
I haven't tested it extensively, but presumably it helps with those endless world wars with loads of stupid AI wargoals in the middle of India etc.

@Sunsphere well, Italy is only fighting because it doesn't want to drop its ally, which in this sutiation is a war leader. Sometimes AI can have enough peace acceptance for white peace but it still won't accept it, it's a vanilla thing
you just need to keep pressing Netherlands - either conquer it's territory or wait until war support reaches zero/they have too much debt

Encountered an issue/oversight. Was fighting against Italy and the Netherlands, Netherlands was willing to peace out but Italy wasn't despite having achieved all its war goals against my capitulated allies. Needs some sort of check where a country with no contested war goals is automatically willing to peace out if their allies who do have war goals are happy with the peace deal.

not in mod yet, but I'm thiking about doing something like that, like if there's a lack of progress for a significant time you'll have jingoistic IGs rallying their supporters around an idea that current government is too weak to properly wage a war

idk if this is already in the mod, but i think there should be a chance for a military junta to take over should wars be going for a while, (more likely in autocratic countries, less likely in democratic countries) like what happened during ww1 to the german empire

devastation is one of the things that affects peace acceptance by AI, so I balanced it a bit too, but maybe too much :)

This is a great mod, but I've noticed that due to the long length of wars devastation tends to hike massively and leads to like 10% of the population dying off in some major wars, even if you didn't actually occupy much land - even more if you did. Could you maybe look into reducing the rate at which devastation increases and increasing the speed at which it dissipates?

I guessed that much from the description. One of the things I liked about The Great Rework before it shut down was that a chain of multiple victories in a row would trigger an event that would give your war support a boost as people rallied behind your victorious forces.

Defeat clearly doesn't need one of its own though considering you're already getting nailed from casualties as well as potentially occupation.

After all, even the Crimean War took almost two and a half years to finish up, and that was a relatively minor conflict.

not yet, right now there are just 4 types of events (very good, good, bad and very bad)
chances of them are changing depending on your war support, so basically a chances of getting good events are higher with high war support and vice versa
I'm thinking about expanding this stuff, like adding pacifist rallies backed up by IGs, events based on the battles etc, but it's all in theory right now

Sadly there's not much you can do about cases when both sides are sitting with zero WS and not going for peace. Peace acceptance and capitulation desire are not accessible for modding like war exhaustion. You can only tweak defines for them.

I did some tweaks, like loans are twice as strong for peace acceptance so countries don't default themselves

These situations are rarer in my experience, but still can happen

Difficult to achieve some quirky war goals can get stuck in a situation where there is zero war support on both sides, can you solve this problem?

Hopefully it also stops the issue with two countries going to war for 40+ decades, had that constantly screw up my Alaska runs.
