The Feedback and Review Initiative
The FRI initiative is designed to provide playtesting and reviews to mapmakers who need them. If you want to improve your puzzles, find any unintended solutions or get some reception to a test that slipped under the radar, I'm happy to provide. I'll review any map posted on the thread provided they follow The Rules.

The Rules

If you want to be reviewed, there's a few simple rules to observe.
  1. If you have more than one map or a collection of maps you want reviewed, do not post them all at the same time. You can post your next map after the prior one has been reviewed. One at a time folks.

  2. No rollercoaster maps. (to clarify: maps where you just stand still and get flung around by faithplates) I don't understand the appeal of those, and thusly cannot provide constructive feedback.

  3. When it comes to Co-op maps, it might take me a little longer to provide feedback for them, because I have to find a partner to review them with. I could theoretically do it split-screen by myself, but is not how they are intended to be played, so you'll have to be a little more patient on that front.

  4. Finally all my feedback provided will be posted in the comments of the test chamber page. If you've got questions or disagree with parts of my assessment feel free to respond in the comments or message me privately if you prefer.

This is not a rule per-say, but while you wait for your own map to be reviewed why not take a look at the other maps posted on the thread? Perhaps you'll have noticed something that I didn't, or have a different perspective on the map's design.

If you're curious about my own maps (self promotion, whoo!) then my most recent submission can be found here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=759785973&searchtext=Isokinetic

Here's a chamber that could really use some playtesting: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=753340999

If you're looking for more feedback, than there's an excellent subreddit that might pique your interest. https://www.reddit.com/r/PortalMaps/

I ran a similar thread four years ago, so I'm curious to see how this one turns out. Alright, I think that covers everything then. If you have questions comments or concerns, inform me via the comments or PM me on steam. I look forward to your posts!

Interesting new thread! Let's get this started then.

Here's my latest one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=754497590

I'll take a look at yours in the meantime :)
Cheers, I'll give it a look.

As a bonus challenge it is possible to complete the map without using the blue gel. :3

As my first was a bit off kilter, here's one that's slightly different.

And yeah, you don't really need all the cubes. Hope you like it!

This is a concept I came up with because I was quite bored:

I'm always trying to make very challenging, concise, and elegant chambers. I try to put a lot of time and thought into my maps. This is my latest.

Greetings, astronauts, war heroes, olympians; I wanted to mention that there's been some updates to the rules, mostly concerning cooperative maps. There's also been an update to the self promotion stuff (whoo!) Just released a new chamber if that catches your fancy. Also, all your tests have been reviewed as of now, so feel free to throw a few more on the pile.
