Total War: ROME REMASTERED

RTR: Imperium Surrectum 0.6.7
Performance issues
I've been playing vanilla on my laptop fine no problems, but I.S. does make my game crash every half hour. but more importantly doing battles, even if theres only 400 people total the game skips alot, as though i had 4000 people in fast forward on vanilla

Hello, I have done some testing with version 0.2.3 of the mod in custom battles, it appears that shadows are a very big factor in performance: if I play without shadows (all the three values in the shadows menu set to the minimum), the perfomance has a very big improvement on my system (Ryzen 2600, 16 GB ram, 4 GB graphic card); on the other hand, changing the settings of unit detail, anti-aliasing and unit textures doesn't seem to impact anything at all.
By the way, I noticed that the visual quality and detail of the units doesn't change if the unit detail is set to ultra or to low, and there is no difference with unit texture on ultra or high ad well.
Has someone noticed the same impact of shadows on performance?
I would like to add that shadows have a significant negative effect even when set at low / medium levels, only putting them to zero level has a significant positive impact on performance.

Please help, the game map for this mod is extremely distorted in color and very grainy, is there a fix?
Yea whats up with the grainy and distorted campaign map and battle map textures? is that normal?

Yeah can we maybe get a version without that effects? Just the new models ?
120fps at 4k vanilla. This mod? 30fps. Something is wrong.
Yeah something definitely needs to be changed regarding the new graphics
the game runs like ♥♥♥♥ with the mod
Hello guys, the game is very dark, did you manage to fix it somehow ?
the fix for the dark game is Campaign Map Post-effects is set to high try 20 % to 30%

YES . Shadow distance and Shadow Res have the biggest effect. ALSO , un check Nighttime shadow to help with PERF and being able to see battles.

i79700k
2080ti
32gRAM
SSD

The shadows unnecessarily kill perf.

I run the game on max settings at 1440p resoultion and I get more or less a stable 60 fps (with a 2070S).

The mod is more demanding than RR as we push things further. :)

120fps at 4k vanilla. This mod? 30fps. Something is wrong.

They added a billion shaders and filters which butchered the performance, negating any optimizations Feral Interractive did to the original engine.

No offense to the above dev but I run a 1080ti (stronger still than a 2070s) at max settings in 1440p and the game chugs to 35fps in pre battle deployment phase. Worse performance than Warhammer 3. You should probably benchmark your stuff properly and stop misleading people.

Just chill out on the postprocessing effects, you're killing your own mod.

I have a 8700k at 5ghz on all cores, it's not my CPU. You just overloaded this mod with bloat. You're making it for yourselves, then you'll play it yourselves. It's a shame because there's a good gameplay foundation there.

Could be that your CPU isn't as capable.
If you have issue with FPS lower the sky setting to low.
We are making this mod first and formost for ourself so we will make it the way we want it.
It will always be way more demanding than vanilla.
