day version without fog/render distance limits would be awesome, this map is huge but the lack of visibility makes it hard to appreciate

Oh, I've thought about doing a day version before!

I could retest some things without the fog. Although, since it's such a large map, having the fog is more for optimisation and increasing frames than anything. Just so much to render in an open space without it. Only some might be able to handle it.

If I do a day version later down the line, I definitely wanna play around with where things are. Vehicles in different locations, events having changed, and most lights turned off.


EDIT:

I should also mention that the much older versions of this map were made in the day, if you wanna get a feel for what it might be like.

loading into the map is fine (optimisation update is also making frames a lot better too), but whenever i try to load into a save of the map, it brings up a "Client 0 overflowed reliable channel" error and sends me back to the menu screen. I dont have any of the addons that usually cause this error, such as ULX or NPC tools, and loading up saves from other maps works perfectly fine

Hi! I found a few sources regarding this. And it does seem that this error occurs simply when you, the player (client 0), are loading too many entities.

"If you are trying to save a game with a massive amount of entities, you are sending a bunch of data through the reliable channel. Eventually the game cannot handle it anymore and disconnects you from the game. "

It may be that my map is simply too complicated for saves with too many addons? But that's just a wild guess. Does this error still occur when you have no other addons enabled?

A suggestion for now might be to use the admin room buttons, found by noclipping above the central tower, out of the map. There, you can turn off scripted events, ammo crates, health/suit rechargers, and more. All features you might not need for your save.

This might be something to do with cubemaps. I'll be adding that to the list of things to do. XD
im having a problem loading the map on a server because it will not locate any of the models you have baked into the map is there a model pack i can download? is there something im doing wrong?

First try going to Options --> Multiplayer --> Download Custom Content is set to Allow All Custom Files From Server.
If that doesn't work, disable your addons. Then try to join again.

Is there an error popping up? it is it loading most of the way, then sending you straight back to the main menu?

there is alot more models missing for some reason but i could not post it here because its too long. because of this i cannot start the server on this nor can i change to it.
css is installed on the server as well

Give it a shot, and tell me how it goes!
fixed it it was a problem with something else not sure what. I did a full reinstall of the server.

great map by the way npc battles are insane.

suggestion for the day version: day but overcast and foggy to keep those render distances short for best performance.
if you could for the tower make the entrances a tad higher so hunters and larger npcs can fit through because they cant right now. Id say maybe a foot to 2 feet taller.
