Description
KMI Orion Class Destroyer

Length: 55 Blocks, 137.5 Meters.
Size: 5,011 Blocks. 50,900 PCU.
Dry Tonnage: 5,262 Tons.
Max Jump Distance: 2,850 Km.

This ship is vanilla and survival ready. It does use DLC blocks for aesthetic improvements, but those blocks are entirely or almost entirely not structurally necessary. If you do encounter a major issue, please, let me know so I can resolve it.

Knightmare Industries presents the Orion Class Destroyer, one of its latest generation of warships. Part of an ongoing modernization initiative, the Orion is designed to be the backbone of the fleet in deep space. Long flight endurance, shipboard production facilities and a large hangar bay ensure it can fulfill its role. It is slower than the Kelpie Class, but requires less fuel and carries greater firepower. The class is named after the mythological huntsman, Orion.

The ship's propulsion is solely based on Ion Thrusters, lowering its acceleration, but allowing it to operate more efficiently in deep space. There are 12 large Ion Thrusters, with numerous smaller Ion Thrusters, powered by 2 Large Reactors, several Small Reactors, and a substantial Battery backup power system. The ship is equipped with 6 Jump Drives for long distance travel. There are 14 Gatling Turrets, 14 Missile Turrets, 7 Interior Turrets, and 20 forward facing Rocket Launchers. Like other KMI designs of this size, the ship is mostly light armor, with substantial heavy armor at the front and reinforced armor around critical components. It is equipped with basic refineries and assemblers for self repair and long missions, with a large hangar for auxiliary craft.

Flight 2 changes:
- Armaments balanced. Interior Turrets reduced to 7 total.
- Crew amenities improved. Medical facilities improved.
- Refineries replaced with Jump Drives. Assemblers reduced to 2 in total, with 2 basic refineries for support.
- Number of Timer Blocks reduced.

The ship is built fully vanilla and survival ready, with an interior in the style of "The Expanse." I also used a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. There are also a few other program and timer blocks if you need them. You may have noticed, but the ship uses DLC blocks.

Please feel free to modify the ship to fit your in game needs. Just be sure to give credit to the original creator.

Author's Notes
Number 3 is out. Or this may have been 4? I can't quite remember the order they were finished in, but this was either 3 or 4. I've had a lot of good feedback on this ship from others, and I hope you enjoy it as well. Its probably the closest to my own personal preference for ships in SE, mostly because of the Ion propulsion and the lack of any custom weaponry. I'm more of a space guy than a planet guy. Overall I think this ship turned out very well, and I hope you're all able to use it to great effect.

If you have any questions or comments about the ship, please leave them in the comments below. Thank you for browsing this item. Safe Voyages! Papple.
