Description
KMI Arion Class Destroyer

Length: 51 Blocks, 127.5 Meters.
Size: 4,529 Blocks. 40,932 PCU.
Dry Tonnage: 6,636 Tons.
Max Jump Distance: 4,520 Km.

This ship is vanilla and survival ready. It does use DLC blocks for aesthetic improvements, but those blocks are entirely or almost entirely not structurally necessary. If you do encounter a major issue, please, let me know so I can resolve it.

Knightmare Industries presents the Arion Class Destroyer, one of its latest generation of warships. The Arion is the a fast attack ship with the highest jump range in the fleet. It is built specifically for combat, without space for auxiliary craft or advanced production facilities. The design is also a test-bed for a new hull structure. The name comes from Greek mythology, where Arion was an extremely swift immortal horse.

The Arion's engines are all Ion for higher mission endurance to give it longer reach. The main thrust is provided by 12 Large Ion Thrusters assisted by a few dozen Small Ion Thrusters. Power is provided by 3 Large Reactors, 12 Small Reactors, and a substantial Battery backup system. The ship is equipped with 12 Jump Drives, giving it a significant jump range. The ship is well armed with 20 Gatling Turrets, 12 Missile Turrets, 26 Interior Turrets, and 8 forward facing Rocket Launchers. The hull is mostly light armor, with heavy armor concentrated at the front. It is equipped with 2 Assemblers, 2 Basic Refineries, a Medical Room and Survival Kit, with 2 connectors for docking.

The ship is built fully vanilla and survival ready, with an interior in the style of "The Expanse." I also used a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. There are also a few other program and timer blocks if you need them. You may have noticed, but the ship uses DLC blocks.

Please feel free to modify the ship to fit your in game needs. Just be sure to give credit to the original creator.

Author's Notes
Ok, now things are really out of order if you're keeping count. Number 6 to be released. This idea popped into my head a few days ago, and I had to try it out. It's a symmetrically asymmetric design, something I've only done once before. I think it turned out quite well, with a more streamlined shape than I expected. This was a fun experiment, and I might try it again in the future, as I feel it gives the ship a very unique look and feel. Trouble was making it unique in some way other than looks. It has excellent turret firepower compared to other KMI destroyers, and a much better jump range than them, something I'm starting to pay better attention to. Overall I'm very pleased with how it all turned out, and I hope you enjoy it too!

Now, I don't know how I missed it, but if you've been following the ships I've been uploading lately, you may have noticed a similar name cropping up. There is now an Arion and an Orion. Both are different in plenty of ways, but the names extremely similar. Arion is an immortal horse and Orion is a great hunter. The ships are fairly different, but similar sizes and both use exclusively Ion Thrusters. That about sums it up. I find it hilarious that in my search for a unique name I ended up with one extremely similar to another I had just used.

Glad to hear it! I feel this style is fairly unique in SE, though that's probably because you can't really use symmetry to build it.
