Description
KMI Falcata Class Frigate

Length: 38 Blocks, 95 Meters.
Size: 2,374 Blocks. 25,042 PCU.
Dry Tonnage: 2,248 Tons.

This ship is vanilla and survival ready. It does use DLC blocks for aesthetic improvements, but those blocks are entirely or almost entirely not structurally necessary. If you do encounter a major issue, please, let me know so I can resolve it.

Knightmare Industries presents the Falcata Class Frigate, one of its latest generation of warships. The Falcata is a large fast attack frigate designed with a lighter hull and hydrogen thrusters for high maneuverability. The ship also has a balanced array of weaponry and a large number of Hydrogen Tanks for flight endurance. The aim was to create a design similar to the Griffin Class Frigate, but more robust and aimed at deep space operations. The falcata is a sword from pre-Roman Iberia which was known for its effectiveness in battle.

The Falcata uses hydrogen for its primary thrust, with a small number of ion thrusters as a backup. These engines are fueled from 4 Large Hydrogen Tanks, which in turn are fueled by 8 O2 Generators. Power is supplied by 9 Small Reactors and a substantial Battery backup system. The ship is equipped with 2 Jump Drives. The Falcata is armed a balanced array of weaponry, including 8 Gatling Turrets, 8 Missile Turrets, 9 Interior Turrets, and 8 Rocket Launchers. The hull is mostly light armor, but is reinforced at the front and in critical areas with heavy armor. The ship carries 2 Assemblers, 2 Basic Refineries, a Medical Room and Survival Kit, with 3 connectors for docking.

The ship is built fully vanilla and survival ready, with an interior in the style of "The Expanse." I also used a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. There are also a few other program and timer blocks if you need them. You may have noticed, but the ship uses DLC blocks.

Please feel free to modify the ship to fit your in game needs. Just be sure to give credit to the original creator.

Author's Notes
I was watching some expanse and Starbase videos, and it got me really in the mood to build some nice expanse stuff. This ship is essentially the KMI version of the MCRN Corvette Class Frigate, aka the Tachi, aka the Rocinante from the Expanse. I wasn't looking to copy the design exactly this time, just use its general its general shape as the basis for an SE design. I really wanted this one to turn out nice, and I'd like to think it has. I worked to balance the weaponry for those that want to build these in servers with limits. The ship won't work for planets, but should be able to handle moons. Having discovered that, I'm a little tempted to try improving the thrust to overcome planetary gravity, but it would likely break the aesthetics of the design. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased with it, and I'll probably just try a new design if I really want that planetary lander. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this ship!

If you have any questions or comments about the ship, please leave them in the comments below. Thank you for browsing this item. Safe Voyages! Papple.

Maybe the Wendigo could work? It's smaller, and should be more moon friendly, but it doesn't have the hangar. Can dock ships to it at least though.

okay.. thanks, I only get 50,000 pcu, so I can't do that one.. :)

I have a few that may fit that. The Orion Destroyer comes to mind, as it is all Ion and has a hangar, but I'm not sure how moon friendly it is.

Let me tell you, this ship kicks butt... say, do you have one that is similar, all ION and is moon friendly? Perhaps something with a hanger for a miner too?

No problem. Glad its working for you.

Yeah, you can tell this is my first BIG ship.. no, nothing was on, :) I got it all going now.. thank you again.

Everything should be connected with conveyers. Were the O2 generators on? Were the tanks full?
GamersCircle 9 Nov, 2019 @ 10:30am
Oh oh the connectors .. are they all connected or are they separated for specific tasks? I docked to one with my miner for ice and the ice was not being pulled.

Okay.. thanks, as it was being built, I thought they were going to be an issue and they were not! I have yet to lift off and I am sorry for the blow by blow here.

Will this hover on the moon? Or will I have to fuel it up and use the gyros to pull the nose up and use the main hydro to get out of the gravity?

Shouldn't be any thruster damage, I build these for survival.
