Description
KMI Myrmidon Class Cruiser

Length: 71 Blocks, 177.5 Meters.
Size: 9,086 Blocks. 90,508 PCU.
Dry Tonnage: 23,850 Tons.
Max Jump Range: 3,040 Km.

This ship is vanilla and survival ready. It does use DLC blocks for aesthetic improvements, but those blocks are entirely or almost entirely not structurally necessary. If you do encounter a major issue, please, let me know so I can resolve it.

Knightmare Industries presents the Myrmidon Class Cruiser, one of its latest generation of warships. Originally intended as a smaller companion to the larger cruisers, the Myrmidon grew into a cruiser sized design itself through the required use of larger engines and a greater arsenal of weaponry. Now it servers as a more modern supplement to the Octavia and Kirin cruisers. A particular focus on combat ability has been taken, with the hull being made entirely of heavy armor and increased spacing between turrets. Originally there were even plans for a self repair system for the main armaments. The armor comes at the price of speed and maneuverability. The ship is named after the Myrmidons of Greek mythology. In Homer's Iliad, the soldiers commanded by Achilles are Myrmidons.

The Myrmidon uses Hydrogen and Ion as primary thrust, with purely Ion thrusters for maneuverability. It carries 5 Hydrogen Tanks for fuel, supplied by 15 O2/H2 generators. Power is supplied by 5 Large Reactors and a substantial Battery backup system. The ship is equipped with 29 Jump Drives, giving it a maximum jump range of 3,040 Km. The Myrmidon is armed with 29 Gatling Turrets, 28 Missile Turrets, 12 Interior Turrets, and 24 Rocket Launchers. The ship is mostly Heavy Armor, reinforced in critical areas, with few uses of Light Armor. The ship has a hangar for auxiliary craft, carries 1 Assembler, 1 Basic Refinery, 1 Survival Kit, and 1 Medical Room,.

The ship is built fully vanilla and survival ready, with an interior in the style of "The Expanse." I also used a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. There are also a few other program and timer blocks if you need them. You may have noticed, but the ship uses DLC blocks.

Please feel free to modify the ship to fit your in game needs. Just be sure to give credit to the original creator.

Author's Notes
Technically I finished this ship a while ago, but the design wasn't quite right and I ended up modifying it. Those modifications were mostly in extending the engines to better fit the aesthetic. Oh, right, and this design was also unusual for the (Insert colorful metaphor here) triangular hull. Those are hard to do, but I do like how it turned out. I always like to try to do unique designs, and that seems fairly unique to me. The modifications I made did make a small mess of things inside, and while I tried to catch anything problematic, I'm not perfect, so let me know if something needs fixing. The ship name also gave me trouble, because I wanted to name it after a certain someone, but I'd already used the ideal name for that on a previous design. So while looking through the usual mythology, I came across Myrmidons, which seemed interesting, and then the following clinched it. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Myrmidon later came to mean "hired ruffian". That mostly, but not quite, fits what I wanted. Having refited it with new engines, reactors, guided weaponry, PDCs and 2 Railguns, this ship shall serve my faction well soon!

Its survivability is great! In conjucntion with a strong PDC-Grid, I can't see any other faction taking her down any time soon.

I appreciate the thought, but I can't really see myself building them with horizontal interiors. Honestly I'm so used to vertical interiors that building horizontally seems strange. You are welcome to modify this ship to suit your needs of course. I know that workshop designs are rarely perfect fits.

would love to see more ships like this, but with a none verticle inside. Ship looks great, but i'd love to see something with a normal interior layout... in regards to most ships you'd see of course.

@Dreadlord9 Its similar to my other ships of this size. I build them with interiors, but that's not usually very PCU expensive. They do tend to have a lot of weapons, lot's of batteries and such.

@RevolverSolver Not sure what's going on there. Might be a bug like Roci suggested, or it could be that the grid is static for some reason.

Im curious as to why the PCU is so high, the ship isnt exactly huge and, although theeres a lot of rocket launchers, the rockets should only make up for around 25k PCU, and i cant imagine what the rest is coming from. Im asking because i would really like to use this ship on some of the servers i play, but the PCU is too high for most of them
