Description
NEW AND IMPROVED!!!
This revision is based on survival playtesting using 1-1-1 settings; I was frustrated with the manual requirement to dump waste stone. This revision completely solved the problem by simply adding a small conveyor, two small conveyor sorters, and an ejector. I also added better lighting (more spotlights) to make mining easier to see, and two 1X1 wheels at the rear to minimize ship damage while in a mine. Finally, I increased the ship's power capacity with the addtion of 6 small batteries; these help significantly when flying with a full load. (Sometimes a "minimalist" design is a bit too minimalist.)

The Popcorn Miner is a minimalist design that is used as a very early survival game to significantly enhance the player's ore detection and extraction process. Built of only 56 components (1,540 PCU) and eschewing unnecessary parts, the Popcorn Miner is comprised of the following small-grid components and parts, all of which can be built using a basic assembler:

Optimized for early survival gameplay for building with a projector:
NO MODS, NO ROTORS OR PISTONS, NO DLC

56 COMPONENTS
1 drill
2 small conveyor sorters
1 ejector
1 small conveyor
1 cockpit
1 medium cargo container
1 O2/H2 generator
1 battery
6 small batteries
1 gyroscope
16 atmospheric thrusters
1 connector
3 interior lights
4 spotlights
1 landing gear
1 ore detector
1 antenna
1 camera
2 1X1 wheels (rear bumpers)
10 armor blocks

PARTS
226 steel plates
16 metal grid
48 interior plates
507 construction components
311 motors
29 large steel tubes
19 small steel tubes
65 computers
6 displays
38 bulletproof glass
32 power cells
4 radio communication components
1 detector component

This mining ship will carry a full load of ice in the O2/H2 generator, and a fully loaded cargo container, connector, cockpit, and drill without any problem, whether you're playing at 1X (realistic), 3X, 5X, or 10X cargo settings. The connector is necessary for recharging the batteries by connecting to another grid's power supply, and for the convenience of dumping acquired ore.

This is a first-level miner. My second- and third-level miners with significantly greater gathering and carrying capacity are:

Check the small conveyor sorter's settings. I've noticed that sometimes you have to reverse the settings to get them to work correctly. The settings are now to blacklist stone, but try changing the settings to instead whitelist ore and ice (and stone, if you're collecting that, too).

I managed to fix it, it was my error that I had to engage brakes while turning off landing pad manually for some reason but it works. The only issue I have now is when connecting the connector at the bottom to a connector on my base that is connected to my refinery, Ore and stone from my drills are not being pulled out the drill

I still can't find a problem. I was going to ask if you were playing MP. If so, all bets are off. Try playing SP and see if the same problem occurs, because I can't seem to reproduce what you're describing..

Thanks, in all fairness I think it may just be the server/game bugging out, but i dont know since I am fairly new to the game

Um-m-m-m...I don't know why it would do that. I played with that ship extensively in survival mode without any problem with it getting stuck. Regardless, I'll check it out again with a new survival game.

The ship keeps getting stuck on the ground, I have to dig the floor underneath it to let it hover for me to fly it, I gave it power and turned off landing pad and brakes.
