Description
Description
Adds a new potential ally or enemy faction on the map called the Amazons. The Amazon tribes will retroactively change their relationship to the player colony based on the composition of their colonists. The Amazons are female supremacists and primarily roam the planet looking for male slaves to apprehend. Gradually over time Amazon tribes will attack the player colony if they have a variable number of males present. Several of the settings can now be scaled according the the players difficulty tastes.

Goal
The goal of the mod was to add a challenging faction to fight that could also act as an ally depending on the players colony composition. My aim was to give the Amazon warriors deadly hybrid weapons when fighting male opponents to portray their cruelty. The Amazon tribes will settle in new locations and conquer rival settlements.

Mod Settings
Please adjust the mod settings to suit your play style.

Requirements
Royalty DLC
Requires the Harmony mod to function.

Difficulty & Balance
The amazon warriors have numerous degenerative weapons which are designed to cause extra damage to males.

This mod is not intended to be seriously balanced, suggestions are welcome.

Nightingale bow added.
Mancatcher stunning weapon added.
Fixed the duplicate techlevel entry in the Amazon faction def.
Amazon weapons cause passive damage when males equip them.

Amazon tribes will now visit friendly colonies

Amazon settlements have a 30% chance to spread.
Amazon tribes will conquer other settlements and capture them.

Updates 4th January 2024
Males present in your colony will aggravate local Amazon tribes.
Relations now decay based on the composition of the colony.
Numerous new mod settings added for scaling.
Amazon tribes are no longer permanently hostile to the player faction.

Installation
The Amazon tribes will not appear on an existing save game, therefore you will need to start a new game in order for them to appear on the world map. Players who used older versions will need to start a new game in order to benefit from the revised mechanics to relationships.

Items
The mod adds several new weapons for the Amazon warriors to use against their opponents. Several of the weapons cause amplified damage against male opponents and can deliver neurotoxic agents into their system.

Future
If people like the mod I may add new weapons, bionics and memes. The mod was influenced by an old Crusader kings 2 mod. I hope to make the Amazon colonies spread eventually but I'm not very experienced with Rimworld modding. The neuro toxin will eventually affect females too, perhaps every successive shot increases their desire to join an Amazonian ideology...?

Conflicts
The Hermaphrodite gene mod has been reported to cause errors with the mod.

Load Order
Mid to low load order should be fine. This mod may work in conjunction with vanilla psycasts expanded at a later date, so keep it below the vanilla series of mods.

I really like the idea of dynamic tribes that expand and warfare that changes the map - but I agree, it should probably have a weighted randomized timing - too much too quick should then experience longer peace - not more than say a dozen changes per year averaged on a world map. Really only works with multiple factions expanding

Unfortunately I keep getting the red error messages :(
Is anybody else having this still? I tried this DL through steam and your LL download but both give me those 4 red lines on startup. Can these just be ignored?

30th of May 2025, reporting from the fields: totally love the idea, BUT even with disabled spread setting this stuff keep spreading like cancer (Wish I was building 40 members strong colonies THAT fast...) and I personally don't mind it, more stuff to raid, but they keep taking over my allies! To whom am I supposed to sell all these wounderfull organs and slaves?
Love the mod, but it breaks whole purpose of Rimworld. It's not a warcrime if it is not profitable.

@A homeless orphan Yes they can be ignored. I think I duplicated the trader in an XML file somewhere. It's only a warning. I will see if I can fix this and upload a revised variation soon.
