Doc's Scrapyard - Custom Units

Description
Plague Marines
When Horus betrayed the emperor, he opened a gateway for the gods of Chaos to corrupt the Astartes. The first Plague Marines were followers of Mortarion, granted great strength and incredible resilience by the toxins and diseases of Nurgle.

Sororitas Rhino
The Adepta Sororitas have decorated and customized a Mark III Rhino to transport large numbers of Sisters to quickly assault the enemy, while providing leadership via the Rhino's laudhailers mounted conveniently on the chassis.

Great Knarloc
Kroot Shapers carefully sculpt their warrior to strengthen them while keeping their intellect intact. A Great Knarloc is the cautionary tale...when a Kroot ancestor devours the largest and strongest, achieving massive size, power, and complete lack of sentience.

Kroot Warriors
Kroot Warriors enter the fray to repay the T'au for saving their homeworld of Pech. Kroot are rapacious carnivores, consuming prey to heal themselves. They are uniquely able to incorporate the genetic code of fallen enemies and become ever-better hunters as they gain in experience.

Banewolf
Desperate to turn the tide of the war, Militarum Command has authorized the refit of Devil Dogs into the poison-spewing Banewolves. Equipped with anti-personnel and anti-armor gas, the Banewolf stalks the battlefield.

Astraeus
An advanced weapon suitable for the Primaris Marines, the Astraeus Superheavy tank surges to battle using anti-gravity technology.

Questor
A Chaos Titan appears on Gladius, screaming the agony and ecstasy of Slaanesh! Once a leader of a proud order of Knights, the Questor Scout Titan falls further into daemonic possession as it fights....

Attack Squigs
To Orks, they're cute pets and delicious snacks. To everyone else, they're balls of teeth and fury...

Bloodletter
A daemon of Khorne unleashed on the battlefield to dedicate rage and slaughter for the Skull Lord. [Check out this link
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3434234472 for a special cameo in Malaikat's World Eaters mod!]

Plaguereaper
Corrupted by ten thousand years of Chaos, a Baneblade emerges as a quasi-living Plaguereaper of Nurgle.

Primaris Sternguard
With the Imperium under attack from all sides, Archmagos Cawl introduces his 10,000 year experiment to improve the Emperor's Angels. Taller, stronger, and more resilient, the Primaris Marines fearlessly hold the line against endless night. Sternguard use Cawl's improved bolt rifle, excelling at ranged combat.

Commander Shadowsun
Shas'O Shaserra is a legend among the T'au...a pupil of the great teacher Commander Puretide, her brilliance on the battlefield has assimilated many new worlds into the T'au Empire. Will Gladius be the next to join the Greater Good?

Glaive
In their hour of need, the Space Marines have restored another precious artifact...the Glaive Superheavy tank. Brimming with ancient technological power, the tank's Volkite Carronade burns the Emperor's foes and pierces the enemy line.

Gargant
A monstrous Scrap Titan lurches onto the battlefield, commanded by a powerful Ork Warlord. Gargants are essentially walking metal fortresses with every sort of weapon welded onto their frames. They are mechanical impossibilities, defying all laws of physics but driven by pure Orky belief in their Boss and his love of dakka.

The Custodian Guard
Somehow the Astropaths reached through the terrors of the Warp to send a desperate plea for help to the Imperium. Quickly recognizing the crucial importance of Gladius, Roboute Guilliman himself dispatched a small detachment...at terrible risk, the ship avoided the clutching claws of the Great Rift and delivered a legend to aid the defenders. The Emperor's Golden Guard have arrived.

The Combat Medic
From the mighty to the humble...the Combat Medic is an ordinary person made extraordinary by her heroism in battle for the Astra Militarum. She is my first true hero unit, and heals and boosts infantry while her compassion enhances loyalty to the garrison of survivors on Gladius.

The Warhound
A general arrives to visit Gladius, accompanied by an honor guard of two Warhounds. Nearly destroyed after being thrown to the planet by the Warp Storm, the mighty Titans lie in ruins. But if you persist, you can convince the Mechanicum to look beyond their morays and rebuild one of the God-Machines to assist you in this endless war....

The Spike
Just when it seems the exhausted defenders may have triumphed, a terrible sight appears...a half-kilometer high Spike of ferrocrete and daemonic power. It lays waste to fortresses with a single shot; worse, its insidious broadcasts can erode morale and turn friends into foes. But can a small team of brave soldiers find a critical weakness?

This is my homage to the titanic daemon-engine in one of my favorite Gaunt novels, Necropolis. Its abilities are designed to reflect the massive size and fear inspired by its appearance, but also the vulnerability that Gaunt was able to exploit....

Cerberus
In desperate times, the Space Marine chapter unearths their most powerful relic...the Cerberus Heavy Tank Destroyer.
Introducing the Cerberus super-heavy tank, wielding sorcerous technology from the Dark Age of Mankind. This monstrous vehicle vaporizes armor with its Neutron Laser Projector. But be cautious, because we only have one...
Iron Hands Compatibility Patch by
Firebringer.

Servo-skull
The bad news is that my long-time assistant Yorick has finally died after 150 years of service. But the good news is that he doesn't have to quit his job!
Welcome to the Servo-skull, an early game recon unit designed to root out overwatch before your poor Guardsmen stumble into it.

Looted Predator
Rejoice, Orky Boyz and Girlz!

Our esteemed MekBoss has finally captured a Space Marine Predator, and his MekBoyz have it all decorated with fancy gubbinz!

This mod introduces the Looted Predator unit for the Orks. Build it from the Mek Bitz Yard once you have the Tier 6 technology Grot Scavengers. It's got that Orky design, complete with skulls, Bosspole, and checkerboards. Tinker with your tank as you drive it, increasing power, range, healing, etc.,...but remember, Ork tech is notoriously fickle.

Unit features

- New models, forged in the fires of Blender!
- Fully customized paint jobs.
- Unique weapons, icons, and unit chatter.

If you've had fun with these, try my Gearheads mod which adds another bunch of new units to Gladius, all original and some with their own meshes.

With so many units, I've run out space on this page! Pretty please see the companion guide for acknowledgments and more detailed unit descriptions. As I continue to add units, I'll shrink down the text on this page and move it to the guide.

Please, ladies and gentlemen, spare me a thumbs up! :)

It turns out that the Steam star ratings for mods are entirely based on the number of "thumbs up" ratings! I had no idea, but now I have another progress bar to fill up :)

So if you want to "tip" me for my efforts, I'd appreciate a thumbs up if you'd be so kind!

LIke other mods, you subscribe and then it should show up in your mod list (usually already activated).

Start a new game, and there are the units! Very unlikely to be compatible with previous "vanilla" games, but generally compatible with other mods.

how to use this mod?
Doc  [author] 26 Jun @ 12:16pm
I'm pretty sure that's it...so many novels in that series!

I think i know which example youre talking about! Flight of the Einsenstein right?

Good discussion...those were in one of the Dawn of War games, if I remember? Those images were one of the ones I used as a reference in creating them.

But the *idea* came because I just started reading the Horus Heresy series (probably the longest sci-fi series ever written, so it's quite an undertaking) and I was inspired by the first examples of true Chaos Marines in early books.

One thing about the 40K universe is that anything you can think of is probably lore somewhere :) My general rule is fun, then creativity, then lore. But most of the time I can have all three....

Fair enough!! Just wanted to flag it in case that mattered to you :D

They're a bit of a pastiche, to be honest. The Manreapers hearken back to Mortarion's guard, and the wrist bolters just seemed cool and something I hadn't seen before.

So you're right! Not lore accurate.
LivBFG 25 Jun @ 9:19am
Very minor nitpick, but the plague marines of your mod seem to be representing the deathshroud terminators, with the manreapers and wrist mounted weapons. just wanted to flag if you wanted to go for lore accuracy

It looks like someone is trying to change a tile type to be "owned" by a player, maybe? I don't have these mods, but I doubt its TMV. Not only has that thing been tested a million times (possibly literally), but it just adds audio as far as I know. EBF (I think) does mess with tiles, so I think you're right about the issue.

Again, look for a name conflict, this time in the World folder dealing with features.

@Doc i wanted to thank you as well i think i've found my original issue with that unrelated game crash and you helped someone almost a year ago with the same issue, and the only mods that i have and the person you helped are: Too Many Voices and the Evolving Battle Fields Series

the message for the crash is

"Modifier.cpp:222:void__cdecl
gladius::world::Modifiers::modify(class gladius::world::Tile
&,const class gladius::world::ModifierParameters &) const:
Assertion "modifierParameters.getSourcePlayer()" failed.

I am pretty sure it is an EBF issue that is causing it. i will let the other mod author know as well.
