Update: 18 Sep, 2019 @ 1:43pm

Further reduced the value of tea down to 50, from 125. I will investigate other factors later which could be influencing it.

Update: 18 Sep, 2019 @ 1:39pm

Reduced the "value" of tea from 200, down to 125, and saw no change in terms of how much it was worth in game. 6666...

Update: 18 Sep, 2019 @ 1:34pm

Attempting to retouch on the monetary value of tea... Since its food value is so low. (Although still useful in terms of staving off hunger by reducing appetite better then sleeping. ) Struggling to get the tuning just right.

Update: 18 Sep, 2019 @ 1:29pm

Increased the nutrient value on Pine Needle Tea to 14 charges/units up from 10.

Update: 18 Sep, 2019 @ 1:00pm

Decreased the nutrient value of Pine Needle Tea from 50 units, down to 10 units.

Update: 9 Sep, 2019 @ 5:32pm

ITEM CHANGES:

- Updated the "Eatery Stand" to include storage for "Pine Needle Tea"

- Updated description for Pine Needle Tea, hinting at using this item to recover from starvation more effectively, or stave off poor nutrition via lower hunger rates when used in combination with the tea set.

FOOD BUFFS:

- Increased nutrient charges for Boiled Rocket Carrots : 20 increased to 25 charges.

- Increased nutrient charges for Roasted Pine Nuts : 35 increased to 60

- Increased nutrient charges for Rock Carrot Soup: 75 charges increased to 80.

FOOD NERFS:

- Decreased Nutrient charges for Pine Needle Tea: 60 charges down to 50. (This may be nerfed further)

SPECIAL NOTE: This needs to be play tested (I am doing so tonight) I recently dropped the requirements of the tea down to 1 pine needle per tea... This could result in an overabundance of food if I am not careful. I suspect the tea will end up being less then that of a boiled rock carrot by the end of tuning. 5-10 charge value more then likely...

Update: 7 Sep, 2019 @ 11:23pm

Further tweaked the "fuel" consumption rate of the tea set. It requires significantly less tea and can be powered for longer.

Update: 7 Sep, 2019 @ 11:12pm

Changed the tea sets animation to be "sitting idle" instead of swimming.

Update: 7 Sep, 2019 @ 11:11pm

Adjusted the "Hunger Rate" on the tea set... Down to 45% of normal... Any unit "working" at the tea set will loose hunger much less quickly as a result. You can observe the changes by mousing over the units "Hunger" Status Bar. Each race has specific values (some races have slower metabolisms then others see the wiki.) Certain activities also influence your hunger rate. Normally working at any station will make your characters more hungry. However I have tuned the tea set to put your characters on a diet :3

However I noticed in the "functionality" of the files . (The same place where we have to select bed or generator codes) There was a value for hunger rate. This got me thinking... What if tea could be used to "save on food" by reducing hunger rates for idle workers?

So now the tea set has a new reason to exist. It may not be useful for combat, but it could be useful in other ways, especially given how some of these enviornements are so barren. Having a way to rebuild your food stockpile while having your units able to defend themselves (and not be asleep - getting abducted or mugged) can come in handy. I may even further reduce the hunger rate depending on how my tests with hivers go.
