1/31/2023 Note: Greetings soldiers, I'm happy to see that many of you are still fighting on the battlefield and I'm sure many of you are ready for the next fight. However my own battle for deep bottom is not over yet. I intended for update 24 to be a vast one, but never intended to leave anyone in silence or give a sense of abandonment. Update 24 is going to need community testing. Starting Friday players will be able to gain access to another version of Deep Bottom through a steam workshop link. Soldiers should take the opportunity to provide feedback during this process, your insight will help me. This update will come with its own roadmap until it's finally finished and uploaded. Greetings soldiers! Today I bring you the third part of the terrain update, along with new balance adjustments. The previous update brought an additional map version which came with some balance adjustments for EA26. I believe I’ve resolved these balance issues. Therefore the EA26 version will likely be removed starting next week. I’m eager to mold the experience players crave, and I hope this is a good start. All changes can be found below.

Update: Terrain revamp (3-4)

Added shortcuts to the largest section of the field for the following regiments.. 1st U.S. Sharpshooters, 3rd Arkansas Infantry.
Reworked terrain nearby the Army of Northern Virginia.
Reduced trees to increase performance.
The Army of the James and Army of Northern Virginia now have artillery.

Over the course of several weeks, The second battle of deep bottom had many level design overhauls and adjustments. There will be one more update which will be its largest and possibly last. Both battlefields will be reworked into one. This update will take time. I would like to mention overtime I have noticed world war collections across my maps. Whilst I don't design fields for that audience, they might be pleased to know built in types, MG, Jeep, and tank are available. Balancing the field for these types is not a priority.

Greetings soldiers, I hope everyone is enjoying the start of 2023. With this update I bring you the second part of the terrain update. This update introduces a reworked landscape behind the James river.

These past few days I’ve been thinking about what’s best for deep bottom and my battle hardened soldiers which have endured much throughout this process. I believe it’s best that deep bottom has its own EA26 version. The version will come with AI boundaries to make make sure its outcomes are similar to version EA25. Whilst it will might resolve most balance issues, There will be one new issue which will be mentioned.

Both of these versions will continue to receive updates throughout the rest of its development. For full patch notes, please read below.

Update: Terrain revamp (2-4)

Reworked terrain behind James river.
Main spawn now has more spawns.
Trails now have footprints.
Reduced amount of trees.
Updated riverbank textures

Known issues for EA26 version.
*Gamemode battle might sometimes end inconclusively.
*Enemy artillery might be sporadic. If it is, enable hard difficulty and endless instant action which will apply the same effect to your team.

Some trees have been removed to increase performance.
Reworked small area of terrain.
Added two entrenchments for union soldiers to increase survivability.
Two or three trees were added to the largest portion of the field to mitigate sporadic confederate artillery.

Pathfinding has been reverted.
Foliage adjustments.
Balance adjustments.
Some wooden walls have been deleted.
Fix attempt for idle bots in 3rd Arkansas Infantry objective, should be more active.
Added two entrenchments on the largest portion of the battlefield for confederates.
Spawns and flag positions have been adjusted for the final time hopefully.
AI colliders have been removed.
Added a new tree type.
Two trails have been erased.
Smoothed terrain in one area.
Reverted some sky and atmosphere setting to see if performance improves.
18th North Carolina Infantry, 8th U.S. Colored Troops infantry can now only be flanked from the back.
Removed congested spawns.
Removed foliage from one area.

Update: Terrain revamp (1-4)

Attention soldiers! Terrain around four objectives has been reworked and is ready to be reinforced. Full list of details can be found below!

Updated pathfinding.
Various terrain adjustments and reworks in four areas.
Ringed objectives now have wooden walls on both sides.
Rifle platforms have been removed.
Spawn points have been increased from two to three.
Capture rates have been decreased from 0.3 to 0.2
Four flag capture zones have been increased.
Four flags positions have been moved slightly.
Most trees are more skinny.

Known issues - There might be lag due to new pathfinding. Reworked portion of the field currently has no foliage. Trees will remain large in the largest portion of the field.
