Is this still up to date?
coletrain  [author] 18 Jun, 2013 @ 4:35pm
It looks like that is location in the Sea of Ghosts mod. If you do unsubscribe from that Mod, I think the problem will go away. I played it and then unsubscribed when finished.

Really good and usefull mod.
But I do have a problem: Darian tells me to go to a place i have already visited but I can't go there beceause it is a special area you can only go once (Japhet's Folly).

Useful mod for when you are an advanced character and need to find odd place you have missed.
Doomextreme 21 Feb, 2013 @ 3:25pm
Hello, I am experiencing problems with this mod.

The first problem is that after I finished my first quest that Darian gave me, he then told me there were no more places for me to explore.

The second problem, is that after I exited the inn, re-entered the inn and spoke to him again, he gave me another location. I fast traveled to the nearest area, and after the loading screen, the quest disappeared and the marker was gone.

Really great mod! You should also consider adding the "gameplay" tag to your mod :)

Looking at it shortly Cole, seeing if it highlights quests yet to be done, as I seem to have all the place markers....
coletrain  [author] 18 Dec, 2012 @ 4:56pm
I've noticed a mod named Dungeon Quest Awareness that looks interesting. I have thought it might be good to have this running when discovering dungeons with Explore Skyrim. But, I haven't tried it yet.
coletrain  [author] 18 Dec, 2012 @ 4:51pm
I have thought I would like a mod that would direct me to quests I missed. That would be nice.
Odrzutowe Wrotki 17 Dec, 2012 @ 2:15pm
Pls. Prepare also mod with missed quest.

coletrain  [author] 15 Dec, 2012 @ 2:09pm
Kelly, please try it now. The TG marker should not be suggested.
coletrain  [author] 15 Dec, 2012 @ 1:42pm
I'm working on it right now.
Gary 8 15 Dec, 2012 @ 1:17pm
Thanks for your time to sort it out Cole. Are we awaiting an update then?
coletrain  [author] 15 Dec, 2012 @ 12:33pm
Kelly,

Spoilers here…

The TG Map Marker in Riften starts out disabled. In the quest TG02, the log entry for Stage 20 is, "Thanks to Brynjolf's support, I've been welcomed into the Thieves Guild by its Guild Master, Mercer Frey. I'm eager to receive my first task and prove that his recommendation wasn't in vain." When this Stage is set, the TG Map Marker should enable. I don’t see anywhere that it gets disabled again. But, I could be overlooking it. I know there is a time where the TG is inaccessible and perhaps during that time, it is disabled. In any event, the fact that it is not always enabled for discovery is enough for me to decide to filter it out of the possible markers that Darian can suggest. Thanks for bringing this marker to my attention and thanks for your patience.
coletrain  [author] 15 Dec, 2012 @ 11:40am
I wonder why the map marker isn't visible then. I'll try to figure that out. I'm also thinking about changing the condition the quest finishes sucessfully on to the map marker becoming visible. I didn't go this route initially because of the case where a marker is blocked from this state. Now that a player can talk to Darian again and abandon the quest, this handles that case.

Definite Spoilers......

Got that entrance months ago Cole.

Kelly,

Possible spoilers…

On my map, I have a visible map marker for the secret entrance to the Thieves’ Guild. It’s a great marker that allows fast travel to this spot.

Can you upload a screenshot of your map around the Riften area? Also, can you tell me which addons and mods you have installed?
Gary 8 13 Dec, 2012 @ 9:15pm
I have, Coletrain, yes. The marker is on or around the blocked off gate at the back.... If I go anywhere in or near Riften, it comes up: 'Completed: Travel To Riften'
coletrain  [author] 13 Dec, 2012 @ 6:41pm
I checked all the markers that can appear on the map when Skyrim is running without addons or mods. Darian is programmed to suggest all except The Left Hand Mine. This marker has a different Location Reference Type to allow it to be disabled during an event. I can work on adding the ability for Darian to suggest this marker specifically in an update.

Kelly,

Possible spoilers here...

Have you discovered the Mistveil Keep and the Thieves Guild map markers?
Gary 8 12 Dec, 2012 @ 9:06pm
It says 'Completed: Travel To Riften' Each Time....
coletrain  [author] 12 Dec, 2012 @ 5:09pm
Toffee this mod will suggest any map marker with a Location Reference Type of MapMarkerRefType. There are 4 markers that meet this criteria that the mod will ignore on purpose. The mod will select a marker if it meets this criteria regardless of whether the marker is from the Skyrim master file or an Add-on or another mod. So the number depends on what you have installed.
coletrain  [author] 12 Dec, 2012 @ 5:07pm
Kelly, there must be a marker in Riften you haven't discovered. The quest ends as soon as you enter the location the marker in regardless of whether you actually enable the marker. I had it coded once to end the quest when the marker was discovered. But, I ran into markers where discovery was blocked and I didn't want a situation where the quest couldn't be completed successfully. Try to look closely at exactly where the quest pointer is before entering the location. It should be pointing right at the marker.
Gary 8 12 Dec, 2012 @ 2:17pm
Hi. Great mod, thanks. But I am constantly being sent to Riften now, nowhere else. Any clue??!!
Dire Squirrel 12 Dec, 2012 @ 9:32am
How many locations does it point you to? Keep getting just the one dialogue and he wont point my anywhere else? Is there only so many that he will point you to?
Pimpson 11 Dec, 2012 @ 1:28pm
YAY another mod troller, (p)rick try making this mod yourself
coletrain  [author] 10 Dec, 2012 @ 8:15pm
Charlemagne, I can think of one thing that may have caused the issue you had. I've fixed it and updated.
leto85 10 Dec, 2012 @ 7:13am
Funny note: my character had destroyed the Dark Brotherhood so it surprised me that one marker was pointing me to the Kara-thing-boat that obviously isn't there. But it was no bug, fortunatelly. All I needed to do was to simply swim there and the quest ended.
Volodya Ulyanov 10 Dec, 2012 @ 7:00am
Awful.
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 3:22pm
Darian won't actually suggest the Atlas Map Markers. But, the books Wild Bill sells can turn them dark on map so you can easily see where they are. This is all part of the Atlas Map Markers mod. Explore Skyrim doesn't really interact with the other mod. But, they can co-exist. I mention it because a few people here and on the Nexus have expressed an interest in more markers.
Charlemagne 9 Dec, 2012 @ 3:21pm
This mod caused me a recurrent CTD. I think it was because Darian suggested a location that is part of a quest (the main one, in fact, with the greybeards). I noticed because coincidentally, after loading a prior save I didn't speak to the man but instead went straight to continue my current quest and whadda ya know, I was sent to the same location Darian had given me before. I might be wrong of course.
Also, after unsuscribing from the mod, Darian is still in the Inn. I don't dare ask him anything!
BigJoseph123 9 Dec, 2012 @ 3:11pm
loving the mod ... must've been loads of work for compatibility with other mods
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 3:07pm
For people who want other map markers, check out Atlas Map Markers and talk to Wild Bill camped just outside of Riverwood. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14976
leto85 9 Dec, 2012 @ 11:15am
It works, haha! I don't know why and why it didn't before, but thank you Coletrain for your explanation on what to do when it doesn't work. Eventhough the mod was selected before it seems I haven't changed anything compared to before installing. Still, thanks again! I love the idea of this mod.

coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 11:02am
The repeating quests are a really cool feature of the game. However, they even get tiresome for me after a few times through them. In my case, I am grinding for levels so that I can find a legendary dragon and I thought it would be nice to find places that I had missed to see some new territory. I was looking for places that would have a number of enemies and would be somewhat significant. Others seem to want find markers for every little corner of the map. I understand this sentiment. I explored every area I could find in the Fallout games and Oblivion. I find the work that has been done on these games fascinating and want to see it all. The comments have given me ideas for possible future enhancements. For, now, it’s encouraging that people are finding this useful even though it has limitations. That’s encouraging as this is my first attempt at a mod.
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 11:00am
You make me think that it might be interesting to play through a game purely from an explorer’s point of view getting advise from a veteran explorer who has been everywhere and could suggest locations in an order that make sense for the level of the player also taking into account distance from other locations that have already been explored. When I created this mod, I was thinking more along the lines of someone who had done all the quests they could find other than repeating quests and wants to find the places they missed.
Black Deer 9 Dec, 2012 @ 10:47am
Ok, I'll try that. Thanks.
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 10:42am
Black Pelican, I just tried a level 2 save and Darian suggested that I travel to an Imperial Military Camp up by Solitude. So, it looks like level doesn't come into play. The mod is probably not useful at this stage of the game. Darian stops recommending locations when the quest fails to start. The assumption is that a map marker of the type he suggests that is not visible cannot be located. But, it’s possible that the quest is failing to start for some other reason. Try unsubscribing from the mod, saving your game and then subscribing again.
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 10:09am
Oh, started the game and he is not suggesting? I will test that.
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 10:08am
Black Pelican, when you have explored all the markers Darian suggests, the only way he will suggest more is if you install a mod that includes more markers of the type he suggests. Or, if I update the mod to find more markers.
Black Deer 9 Dec, 2012 @ 9:44am
But the problem is I don't see any markers. I've started a new game recently so its not because I've explored too much.
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 9:27am
Drmiller357, Darian uses quest logic to suggest the markers. I'm not sure if it takes into account level or not. Documentation about it did mention that it will pick places that are not cleared over places that are cleared. Most of the time, this will not come into play since people will not have been to the places before, unless of course, you have turned off previously visible markers with the console command tmm 0 and want to explore the whole thing over again.
coletrain  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 9:22am
krkc50, there is a marker there at that exit. It's tricky to enable that one. But, it is possible.
