Warhammer 3 Visual Bug Fixes

Description
Greetings fellow Total War players!

This is a reupload of my Visual Bug Fixes mod to fix an issue that has been plaguing the original mod since its conception. When I first made this mod I only intended to fix some minor texture issues, hence the name of the packfile reflected that. But the mod has evolved to include far more bug fixes dealing with a wide range of issues related to visual bugs.

Now reuploaded with a new packfile name, it should make the mod far more compatible with other mods without having to adjust the load order manually.

What does this mod do?

Adds and edits many new textures, recreated models and material shader files, edited animation files and various other additions for the purpose of fixing visual bugs in the game. Some assets have been imported from Warhammer 2 and Warhammer 1 to fix problems either neglected by the developer or just forgotten.

More details can be seen in the change log, but since there are so many fixes that can't be listed on the mod page, I have included a detailed readme file in the packfile itself.

For older changelogs see the old mod page

How compatible is the mod?
• Should be fully save-game compatible
• In many ways this functions as a reskin mod, so they may not be compatabile with other mods that alters units.
• Will probably not be compatible with big overhaul mods like SFO etc.
• If you are using Radious mods, this mod is not needed as most if not all fixes are included in that mod.

Any known bugs or issues?
• There may be a few here and there because of the size of the mod, so report them to me if you find any.
• Because of the nature of some of these fixes, there may be an impact on perforamance.

Concerning LODs and bad looking unit models.
• Just want to mention that many of these LOD issues and bad looking models has a lot to due with the broken LOD distance range in the game. For some reason the LOD distance range have been shortened by a great deal compared to Warhammer 2, so you barely ever see the original unit model unless you zoom in completly. If you zoom out to a normal top down view you are probably seeing the worst possible LOD most of the time. In Warhammer 2 you had to zoom quite a far distance for the worst LODs to load.

But there is a way to solve this, but not by a normal mod. And I have made a guide on how to install the tool needed for you to make this yourself.

Modder yourself?
If you want to make a reskin mod or anything that would break some of the fixes from this mod, you are free to use this mod as a resource for your own mod. This is something I do for myself and the community and you are always free to use these fixes for compatability patches or whatever.

I found a bug. I don't know when it happened but I noticed it recently. Dwarf axe infantries creates an area of effect when they hit, like a lord or hero. I tried many units but only dwarfs and chaos dwarfs have this weird bug. I hope the tool gets fixed soon, because you're doing great work, we need you

The latest patch broke the Asset Editor, until that tool is fixed there is not much I can do unfortunately.

Maybe you could incorporate some fixes from Warhammer 1 Update Project Model Fixes like the VFX restoration for Archaon, Kholek, and Sartorael?

Hey again thank you for responding and making the mod! I've had a look and the Exalted Plaguebearers are no longer teal but they look much paler than regular Plaguebearers like their brightness has been turned up?

If that was intentional or you're not too bothered about it no worries just thought I'd mention it. There are screenshots of how they used to look before they became bugged in vanilla if you want a comparison.

if i find a mod that has a conflict with .dds files, should i be putting your mod above theirs or are the .dds files specific for that unit?

@sirkudjon Thank you for pointing out the bug for Kharybdis, released a hotfix update to remove the files I made to fix the model in a previous update. Seems CA fixed it with the recent update.

I don't know about the Fort Towers as that is something I have not touched upon. This mod primarily deals with units.

Hey so a question. Did you change something to Fort Towers for HE settlements because they are all rendered along with their wall sections low poly since 6.1 and Kharybdis model is a pixelated mess. Also low poly.
Merwanor  [author] 5 Apr @ 4:44pm
@Elliott, I believe I have fixed that issue yes.
