"Beinamen" No one ever. Call it Spitzname, Its the german name for it. OR just call it Nickname really.

@Komet
Unfortunately, this is nonsense. "Spitzname" is what friends call you. "Beiname", or "Agnom" is what is correct and appropriate here.

Never ever heard "Beinamen" Literally never. So keeping it "nickname", an accepted anglicism, would prob be the better choice.

I am open to replacing the translation if someone types up a new one.

@BDW
Why would you say that?? The translation of nickname to "Beiname" is correct! Nickname translates to "Spitzname", "Beiname" and (in terms of video game names) "Nickname". While the first one means to describe the names you call your friends (e.g. Robert to Bobby or Rob), the second one is used as a kind of second name (e.g. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). So in terms of CK3, "Beiname" as a describing name rather than a shorter version of the name is correct. "Nickname" is an informal anglicism that is't used in the German language. The only times that term is used is when you are playing a game or making an online account and you have to give yourself a name. Then it's often called "Spitzname" or "Nickname".

The Fact that @Komet doesn't know the term "Beiname" and wants to change the translation is that he either can't speak proper German or he is just an uneducated native speaker.

Both ways: I wouldn't rely on his opinion.

Since I don't speak German well enough to say which one is right I'll just leave it as it is for the moment I guess.
