some memories stick with you. memories of places long gone. people you haven't seen in ages are reduced to shapes and figures in your head. so frustratingly close to being a complete memory. maybe some of the memories are best left this way. for it isn't too fun when some come back. when they feel so real.

sometimes they are inescapable. sometimes we are trapped in the past. reliving the incomplete. reprocessing a shred of paper. sometimes the memories heal or fade. and other times they fester and degrade.

the memories strike sharply yet dull. just the tip sharpened to enter and shove the dullness slowly through the rest of you. to savor every tear and shred of your flesh as the blood flows like tears releasing the prison of emotions locked within you.

the memories trap and ensnare, altering everything into a recollection that feels all too real. abandoning the world in front of you for the one in the past. losing sight of everything there was as you fade into nonsense. as you let go and venture into the depths of your subconscious.

when we go too deep it can be hard to come back from it. frozen, you just want to escape. but you are trapped. you are stuck in a memory as it malforms around you. suffocating in the panic. will you be freed? will you be able to heal?
