Update: 18 Jul, 2019 @ 11:49am

OPFOR: Provisional Irish Republican Army:

-M107 Sniper Rifle redesignated "M-82 Sniper Rifle."

Mod:

-all weapons, vests, and soldier classes have now been configured for availability in the Default Storage and Virtual Arsenal!

Update: 15 Jul, 2019 @ 8:48pm

BLUFOR: Global Defense Initiative:
Russian Forces:

-Officer (rifle and pistol), Squad Leader, Fire Team Leader, Grenadier (AKM/GP-25), Rocket Soldier (RPG-7 and Igla 9K38), Radioman, Combat Medic, Engineer (rifle, pistol, unarmed) and Technician added.

-Rifleman 6B3 (Tri-Colored Vest) switched to 6B3 (Tri-Colored Vest; no back pouch).

Mod:

-as a test, CfgWorlds and GenericNames have been added to incorporate variant names for GDI Commandos. These names take direct references from Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (2001-2002) as homage to, in the opinion of the mod creator, one of the greatest early X-Box games of all time. The Commando loadouts are also based in part on the loadouts of Ghost Recon 2001-2002. The names are functioning properly.

-we have finally discovered a workaround for how to enable patches to automatically show up on uniforms! They will not be displayed as the choice patch selected in the unit Identity attributes window automatically, but they do appear due to an EventHandlers "setObjectTextureGlobal" command in each unit's configuration.
-Note: some uniforms like the British GDI Forces desert camouflage do not have patch functionality enabled. Further, accessing the ACE Arsenal after deploying the soldier asset will cause the Eden Editor to remove the patch. Lastly, this does not resolve the issue of patches failing to appear on AI soldiers when they respawn.

Update: 4 Jul, 2019 @ 5:48pm

BLUFOR: Global Defense Initiative:
African Forces:

-standard fire team, fire team (antitank), and command section groups created as a test for viability of said groups.

German Forces:

-G3 Rifleman removed, as European GDI Forces carry the G3. German GDI Forces will incorporate the G36 series of weaponry, as they were under development in 1990-1995 and deployed in 1997. As such, "Rifleman (G36E)" redesignated as simply "Rifleman," and US Field Dressing has replaced by ACE Bandage. PASGT (Desert) replaced with Carrier Vest (Flektarn).

-German GDI Officer (rifle and pistol), Squad Leader, Fire Team Leader, Automatic Rifleman, Grenadier, Rocket Soldier (MAAWS and FIM-92), Radioman, Combat Medic, Engineer (rifle, pistol, unarmed) and Technician added.

-all German GDI Forces now carry M18 Yellow Smoke Grenades.

Russian Forces:

-Russian GDI Rifleman AK-47 (new) replaced with AKM (early).

-Rifleman and Automatic Rifleman now carry White and Yellow Smoke Grenades.

Elite Forces Unit: Airborne Rangers:

-class name of Grenader's rifle is now prefixed with "GDI."

Elite Forces Unit: Commandos:

-Commando Fire Team Leader added.

-Commandos now have the "Put" entry in their unit configurations, allowing them to place explosives.

Elite Forces Unit: Special Operations:

-Automatic Rifleman and Medic backpack class names changed to adopt simple language.

Second Tiberium War Forces:

-Grenadier, Automatic Rifleman, and Combat Medic backpacks class names changed to adopt simple language.

BLUFOR: Generals: United States of America:

-Fire Team Leader and Pathfinder (woodland and desert ghillies) added. The only available sniper rifle camoflague as provided by CUP appears to be woodland in nature, so we will stick with that until we find a more desert-specific camoflague.

-Generals: USA map markers with blue and red field (based on current flags) added.

BLUFOR: Allies:

-Allies Rocket Soldier (FIM-92 Stinger) added. Original Rocket Soldier equipped with M72 LAW and associated equipment redesignated as such.

-Tanya Adams (rifle and pistol) now carries a Canteen, GPS, Radio, M67 Frag Grenades, and White and Blue Smoke Grenades. Maximum count of M112 Demolition Blocks increased from 3 to 6 and all charges are now carried in a black backpack. Item placement has been verified so that the proper number of magazines appear on the soldier. A "Put" entry has been assigned to the configurations' weapons entries to allow the soldier to place demo charges.
-Tanya Adams (rifle) maximum M-16A2 30-round magazine capacity increased from 4 to 5. Maximum M1911 7-round magazine capacity increased from 3 to 4.

-Engineer no longer carries M67 Frag Grenades, 6.5mm magazines, Green Chemlight, or 9mm 17-round magazine. This was caused by the lack of an empty "magazines" entry in the unit's config.cpp file.

-Rocket Soldier no longer carries 40mm HE grenades meant for an M203.

-Spy (infiltrator and disguised) now has a "Put" entry in the configurations' weapons entries to allow the soldier to place demo charges. He also now has a "canHideBodies = true;" entry on his configuration entry, as this was observed in other mods when addressing special operatives. Its effects, however, are unknown at this time. Infiltator now has a "camouflage = 0.6;" entry on his configuration section, and while this feels like a cheat, we are willing to experiment.

-Allies Machine Gunner backpack class name changed to adopt simple language.

OPFOR: Soviets:[/b]

-Rocket Soldier (Strela-2) added. Existing Rocket Soldier armed with RPG-7 and assets redesignated as such.

-Rocket Soldier (RPG-7) now has a single RPG round allocated to its configuration to be automatically loaded into the launcher system.

-Soviet Rocket Soldiers are now properly equipped with the Tactical Backpack (olive) instead of the Field Pack (olive).

INFOR: Tmassah Militia:

-Rocket Soldier added.

CIVFOR:
Game Master:

-"Zeus Man" operator created to simplify adding "Zeus" game master to scenarios. Base class is C_Protagonist_VR_F.

Westwood News:

-Greg Burdette config entry now has empty magazines entry to ensure no errant ammunition is assigned to the unit.

Mod:

-we have discovered how to FINALLY get custom loadouts to appear in the Zeus menu! All soldiers now appear in Zeus!

Update: 21 Jun, 2019 @ 8:32pm

BLUFOR: Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9:

-research has revealed that the AN/GVS-5 Laser Rangefinder was available as of the 1980s. The AN/PEQ-1 recently released by CUP began circulating within the U.S. Army as of May 1996. Therefore, all operatives who carry Binoculars are now equipped with Rangefinders, and while it does not LOOK like the AN/GVS-5, it FUNCTIONS like the AN/GVS-5.

-Demolitions Specialists now have the "Put" entry associated with planting explosives added to their list of weapons in the force's config.cpp file.

-Helicopter Pilot and Crew Chief helmets changed from PASGT (Black) to Heli Pilot Helmet (NATO) and Heli Crew Helmet (NATO) respectively. SWD Goggles removed.

OPFOR: Brotherhood of Nod:
African Forces:

-Engineer (pistol) and Scout (with and without radio) added.

-Demolitions Specialist can no longer heal soldiers.

-all personnel assigned to African Forces have now had their class names suffixed with "_africa" to make management easier. This, however, removes any existing classes in scenarios with the old names. Steps have been taken to ensure that current scenarios still function.

Black Hand Elite:

-Nod Black Hand Elite Rifleman added.

OPFOR: Republic of Iraq:
Iraqi Army:

-Officer, Squad Leader, Team Leader, Rocket Soldier, Scout, Helicopter Pilot, and Tank Crewman added.

-as standard, all Iraqi Army personnel now carry only 1 RGO Frag Grenade, 2 Bandages, and no White Smoke Grenades. Only the Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Officer carry colored smoke grenades.

-Rifleman's AK-47 replaced with AKM based on research into Iraqi Army weaponry of the 1990s.

-Automatic Rifleman PKM replaced with Zastava M72 Machine Gun. Russian M88 uniform replaced with SLA Militia uniform.

Update: 11 Jun, 2019 @ 8:05pm

BLUFOR: Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9:

-Demolitions Specialist added. This operative carries an assault pack with M112 C-4 and an M57 Firing Device, along with two Thermite Grenades.

-Sniper is now equipped with an assault pack loaded with an AN/PVS-4 Starlight Scope for night operations. This backpack will allow the sniper to change out his scope on the fly without requiring the creation of an entirely new soldier.

-a second category of operatives now features black uniforms. This group's Sniper is equipped with a black camouflage M-24 Sniper Rifle and scope and a black assault pack.

-theorized Black Ops 9 flags in blue and black fields added. There is no official documentation to suggest that Black Ops 9 had any formal flags at all, but we have decided to craft one regardless.

-Black Ops 9 map markers based on theorized flags added.

Note: Standard Binoculars do not appear to be useable with AN/PVS-7 Night Vision Goggles. We are investigating a suitable replacement that is period-specific if possible. We are also investigating what in-game items are available to help players read their maps in night conditions.

OPFOR: Brotherhood of Nod:
African Forces:

-Nod Rocket Soldier (Strela-2) added.

-original Nod Rocket Soldier (RPG-7) relabeled as such.

Update: 9 Jun, 2019 @ 7:46pm

BLUFOR: Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9:

-functionality of Comp M4 Aimpoint Optics and AN/PEQ-2 Infrared Aiming Lasers verified. AN/PEQ-2 Infrared Aiming Lasers were accidentally removed from Black Ops 9 operatives' M-16A2 Carbine/M-4 rifles due to editing the wrong LinkedItems entry in the weapon's specific CfgWeapons configuration field.

Update: 9 Jun, 2019 @ 6:51pm

BLUFOR: Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9:

-Squad Leader added for the sake of creating a role to lead 5-10-man elements. With the addition of the Squad Leader, the Squad Leader now carries the Laser Designator and extra laser batteries. Team Leaders now carry Binoculars.

-all M68 Close Combat Optics have been replaced with Comp M4 Aimpoint Optics (although they are very similar to each other already). All editor preview imagery updated to show this change.

Update: 9 Jun, 2019 @ 5:03pm

BLUFOR: Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9:

-Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9 was the precessor to the Global Defense Initiative and under the direct control of the United Nations Security Council. A scenario is under development in which a team of these operatives will be deployed on the mission which determined the fate of Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9 and the birth of the Global Defense Initiative.

-Black Ops 9 Team Leader, Riflemen, Automatic Rifleman, Grenadier, Rocket Soldier (M72 Antitank and FIM-92 Antiaircraft), Combat Medic, Marksman (M-16A2 and M-14), Sniper, Helicopter Pilot, and Crew Chief added.

BLUFOR: Global Defense Initiative:
Elite Forces Unit: Airborne Rangers:

-display name of M-4/M203 weapon amended to remove notation that it is equipped with an AN/PEQ-2 Infrared Aiming Laser, as it is not equipped with such an attachment.

OPFOR: Republic of Iraq:

-Iraqi Leadership, Iraqi Army, and Republican Guard entries created.

-Saddam Hussein (aviators and body double) added.

-Iraqi Army Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, and Sniper added.

-Republican Guard Rifleman added.

-Iraqi flag (Ba'athist Iraq, 1980s-1990s) and Republican Guard shoulder patch added in preparation for additional content and scenario under development (for the record, Project OPFOR has modernized Iraqi Armed Forces, not Ba'athist Iraqi forces from the late 1980s-early 1990s, and I'm actually surprised there's so little Persian Gulf War content for ARMA III. As little exists, for the purposes of the scenario under development, we are creating these loadouts with what assets we have available).

INFOR: Tmassah Militia

-Militia Recruit Water Bottles replaced with canteens.

Update: 5 Jun, 2019 @ 6:58pm

BLUFOR: Global Defense Initiative:

-Soviets Star Flag created from a star logo as seen in an in-game cutscene.

INFOR: Tiberium Mutants:

-Tiberium Mutants and The Forgotten config.cpp file created in preparation for future content.

Update: 26 May, 2019 @ 10:48pm

BLUFOR: Global Defense Initiative:

-all UN Delegates should no longer be carrying any magazines, weapons, or 'hidden' frag or smoke grenades. This previous issue was caused by our config.cpp files relying upon inheritency of base BLUFOR and OPFOR soldiers, but without defining the potential magazine capacity as having no magazines or grenades. In plain English, because we didn't define our custom soldier classes with zero magazines and grenades, ARMA III assumed our custom classes should have the exact same grenade and magazine loadouts as the base BLUFOR and OPFOR soldier classes. THIS has now been fixed.
-as ACE does not allow for actually "drinking" from the water bottles, all water bottles (half-full) have been replaced by Ryan's Canteens.

Mod:

-all personnel now have "roles" defined in their config.cpp entries. Their effects, however, are unknown at this time.
