Update: 31 Jul @ 5:56pm

Patch 47

  • Wieneke's daytime sanity drain has been slightly reduced (-5.667/min > -5/min).
  • The rate at which Wieneke's damage tolerance (DT) penalty additively recovers over time has been reduced (1x > 0.5x).
  • Wieneke now slowly recovers her maximum DT penalty while sleeping in a tent, siesta or fur roll (7.5%/minute).
  • Wieneke no longer regenerates a chunk of lost max DT when eating a Booster Shot.
  • A new UI effect has been added, briefly displaying on Wieneke's health meter when a DT penalty point is recovered. Note this effect only appears when using active methods of regenerating it (Soothing Tea, sleeping).
  • Creatures tethered to a Quelling Candle can no longer destroy structures if they were provoked into doing so.
  • Hosts that can offer rides to other survivors can now also carry heavy objects. Some exceptions apply. Carrying a heavy object during possession increases hunger drain by 2x.
  • Wieneke's hunger meter should now more accurately display a small or large down-arrow to represent her current hunger drain rate.
  • Fast-movement related hunger drain during possession now only activates if the host is actually moving, rather than if the player was holding down movement keys.
  • The swimming hunger drain no longer erroneously applies to land creatures when they briefly hover over the ocean during a boat hop.
  • Flying or swimming possessed creatures are now pushed back if they come into contact with an ocean wave.
  • Emotes during possession should now be much less likely to be cancelled by residual movement.
  • The sleeping potency of a possessed Mandrake's Wail action has been increased (10 > 20).
  • Possessed Koalefants are now slightly quieter when attacking multiple times in a row.
  • When using the mouse to perform a possessed Bearger's Pound action, it will now first move towards the target location rather than doing it in place.
  • A possessed Dragonfly no longer pushes boats with its ground-pound attack.
  • A possessed Dragonfly's Enrage action may now be (de)activated by using the spacebar.
  • Host tips displayed in the player info panel now appear/disappear if the panel was opened prior to possessing/unpossessing.
  • The host tip panel now shows some additional info when mousing over the host's icon, such as whether they can carry players or heavy objects, or get wind gusts while running.
  • Host health changes now display the appropriate amount if playing with the Stat Change Display mod.
  • Fixed an issue where, when hopping between a boat and land during possession, the host would briefly jitter in place before returning control to the player.
  • Fixed an issue where Wieneke's rosy cheeks would not appear in the right place during a possessed Dragonfly's hit animation.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred if the player re-rolled their character while the unpossess reticule was displayed.

Update: 26 Jul @ 2:58pm

Patch 46

Update: 26 Jul @ 2:30pm

Patch 45

  • Added a measure to hopefully fix crashes that occurred upon unpossession while playing with certain extra equip slot mods.
  • Ickers can no longer be possessed.
  • The Ancient Fuelweaver and related reanimated skeletons now instantly repel Wieneke upon being possessed.

Update: 25 Jul @ 1:12pm

Patch 44

  • Re-uploading in an attempt to resolve a Steam download issue. Also contains a few minor tweaks, hopefully that doesn't interfere!

Update: 24 Jul @ 11:15pm

Patch 43

  • A possessed Mandrake now has a unique Wail action. When used, it puts all nearby creatures to sleep, costing 50 hunger.
  • Creatures captured in Quelling Canisters can no longer hold onto items when unsummoned.
  • Creatures that are following an irreplaceable item, such as Chester or Glommer, can no longer be captured in a Quelling Canister.
  • Fixed an issue where any boss monster could be captured in Quelling Canisters if certain conditions were met. Note that this change does not affect the exemptions from being able to be captured.
  • A dead Mandrake will now drop if a Mandrake canister is hammered.
  • Fixed an issue where Mandrake canisters were able to be awakened during the daytime.
  • Fixed a crash that would occur when survivors other than Wilson or Wieneke would examine a creature canister.

Update: 23 Jul @ 5:44pm

Patch 42

  • A new unique craft has been added: the Quelling Canister. It can be crafted by Wieneke at a Shadow Manipulator, costing 1x Glommer's Goop, 2x Moon Rocks, and 2x Nightmare Fuel.
  • The Quelling Canister is a portable container, functioning similarly to the Polar Bearger Bin. It can store up to 3 awakened items.
  • It also has a secondary use: If the canister is empty, you can capture almost any creature inside, converting it into an awakened item that can summon the captured creature, similarly to awakened boss items. Once something is captured within, it can no longer be used as a container.
  • The captured creature will behave much like boss summons do, meaning their health is cut in half, and they no longer drop loot when killed.
  • In order to successfully trap a creature, you can use the new Capture action on a Quelling Canister while possessing said creature. If its health is above 50%, the process will fail and it will kick you out, similarly to possessing an undefeated boss. The lower its health, the easier it is to capture.
  • If a creature is inside the canister, it can be broken with a hammer to retrieve some of the materials used to make it. The creature will be lost in this case.
  • Note that you cannot capture creatures that already have awakened items associated with them. Additionally, most bosses cannot be captured, with a few exceptions (Moose/Goose, Treeguard).
  • Moving around as an awakened creature now only consumes more hunger if the creature grants a tangible speed boost.
  • The Quelling Candle now recovers up to 10% of a tethered monster's health per day.
  • The Mutated bosses can no longer be possessed.
  • A possessed enraged Dragonfly's movement speed has been reduced (9.1 > 8).
  • The Moose/Goose's hopping animation has been sped up to match the player's movement speed when possessed. It's also much quieter when moving around.
  • Possessed birds now also hop slightly faster for similar reasons.
  • A possessed Moose/Goose can now offer rides to other players.
  • A possessed Mosling can now offer rides to other players.
  • The Moose/Goose and Moslings now grant an additional 25% wetness protection when possessed.
  • The maximum freezing potency of Deerclops's attack has been reduced to match the Ice Staff (1.25 > 1).
  • The Ancient Guardian is now a little quieter when possessed.
  • The Ancient Guardian now takes less time to start running when possessed (1.5s > 0.667s).
  • Volt Goats now show Wieneke's rosy cheeks when possessed.
  • Awakened items can now only be eaten if the force attack key is pressed.
  • Fixed an issue where backpacks would be closed upon unpossessing when playing with extra equip slots mods.
  • Fixed an issue where a possessed Rock Lobster would deal significantly less damage than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where AoE damage during possession would not get the appropriate damage-falloff if the main target instantly died from the attack.
  • Fixed an issue where the Quelling Candle would try to tether to awakened creatures when they were unpossessed.

Update: 16 Jul @ 7:34pm

Patch 41

  • Actions for harvesting plants, picking up items and chopping trees can now be queued during possession if the Action Queue Reborn mod is enabled.
  • Wieneke's dusk and caves sanity drain has been increased (-3.3/min > -3.75/min).
  • The highest sanity penalty for Wieneke's hosts getting killed during possession has been reduced (60 > 40).
  • Wieneke now suffers a damage tolerance (DT) penalty if her host is killed during possession. Similarly to the sanity penalty, it scales with the host's max health (min. 0%, max 5%).
  • Weather Pain tornadoes cast by allies or yourself no longer erroneously damage possessed creatures.
  • Fixed an issue where the natural DT penalty recovery would increase by a whole days' worth every second (Woops).
  • Fixed a rare issue where a possessed Dragonfly would heal itself to full, seemingly at random.

Update: 14 Jul @ 7:26pm

Patch 40

  • Wieneke's health meter will now show a crack, representing her current damage tolerance (DT) penalty. There are 3 stages to this visualisation: The first shows up at an 18.75% penalty, the second shows at 37.5%, and the final at 56.25%.
  • The thresholds at which Wieneke will announce her damage tolerance penalty have also been adjusted. She will now announce the first warning at 37.5%, the second at 56.25%, and the final one once you've reached the maximum possible DT penalty (75%).
  • Possessed Rock Lobsters are no longer forced out of their shielding state if they absorbed an attack that would apply a knockback.
  • Creatures that can fight will no longer be able to show the Haunt action when possessed.
  • Awakenable items may now be summoned by using the spacebar.
  • Spacebar actions that don't require a target now give priority to ones that do during possession: For example, Bearger's ground-pound will give priority to investigating a suspicious dirt pile or opening fence gates.
  • Fixed an issue where, when using the movement keys to initiate a sprint during possession, the host would not visually run faster if lag compensation was disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where Wieneke's rosy cheeks would appear in the wrong place during Dragonfly's ground-pound attack.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when using the Haunt action on a baby tentacle.
