HMES Rapid

Here's the sixth post of the third round of Avem Empire airships! I'll be doubling my fleet size in this update, so make sure to check out all the other designs.

Rapid is an airship I finished a long time ago, but I haven't gotten around to uploading her until this blueprint dump, so you're getting her now. I pretty much built her in a single day, but I've done a lot of tuning work since then. She's my smallest useful airship at the moment, but despite that she's got a very potent main armament, thanks to the power of missiles.

Rapid is a destroyer escort featuring six aerial torpedoes and four vertically launched large missile glide bombs. She has four simple cannons as her "main" armament, plus some AI, but it's the missiles that really dish out destruction. Rapid stays at a decent distance and is often overlooked by enemy warships, which is good, because she's too smal to have any useful amount of armor. If you want to add more DPS to a fleet, she's a fine addition, especially with how cheap she is.

Like all my other airships, she can go 50m/s and has a cruising speed of 40m/s. She has a complementary altitude with one of my other destroyers, HMES Adventure, meaning that these two ships use altitudes that will see them unable to collide. Adventure can also do a good job of dealing extra damage with her frag funs and torpedoes, plus absorbing a lot of fire that she can shoot down, distract, or dodge, saving Rapid from taking serious damage.

Also keep in mind that the colors and reflections and overall appearance of my airships will vary significantly based on your graphics settings, so feel free to mess with your settings and the paint colors until you get them to look how you like.
