Hw1 Corvette damage vs fighters lowered and tweaked.

Taiidan Sensor array Ping fixed.
this was my bad lol..

Vaygr Missile corvettes damage vs large ships lowered to HW2 levels.


was distracted while making this patch, hopefully i didnt break anything. let me know if any crash bugs pop up.

Hw1 Missile Destroyers attack AI vs fighters and corvettes changed to Frontal. sometimes they face away or turn in random directions and don't fire when given orders to fire on strike craft, this should hopefully fix that.


HW1 carrier build time lowered slightly. (they dont get carriers right off the bat, and cant make ship yards, i dont want to hear HW2 players crying about this, you can still out build them)


HW1 Sensors arrays 2ndair Sensor range increased to 999,999 to simulate how they use to work in original hw1


Hw2 Collector RU cargo hold increased to 250 from 200, to help balance it out with the HW1 collectors.
collector collection rate per second also uniformly increased to make sure the collector spends the exact same amount of time on the rock to fill up, as it did before.


Cloak reactivation delay between the time of actually re-cloaking and the time you stopped firing, has been reduced from 10 to 3 seconds.
this is a global trait, i originally only wanted to edit the cloaked fighters specifically, but that isnt possible due to the way the game is coded.
so basically anything with a cloak will re-cloak faster, so long as it isnt still shooting.

some of you may love this. some may cry that it isnt accurate HW2, to which i "say, not much i can do about it, besides the more i look at the files the more i realize the ""default"" version of the game you're playing now, is nothing like the original hw2 anyway so QQ"

Population fixes:
It is now possible to capture more than 1 mothership like in the old HW2.
HW1 and Hiigaran Carriers now cap at 4 instead of 3 in normal and low population games, and vaygr are back to capping at 6 like they use to.


Ship Transfer/sharing fixes:
The ability to give your allies shipyards, heavy/battle cruisers, and carriers, even your own mothership: has been restored.

take note though, if you give someone who isn't the same race as you your production ships, they will not be-able to build on or fully use them.
old HW2 players will know what i mean.. this is hard coded and its probably why gear box disabled this feature. in short no way to fix that. but now when you're down to a carrier, or cruiser its not the end. your allys can toss you a carrier or 2 to get you back in the game, provided you're the same race.

A few attack AI fixes for HW1 Campaign NPCs. more to come. still messing with MP as you can so, getting that smoothed out. (or i broke it, i dont remember if i fished editing that last night, i was half awake. please tell me if you crash in campaign)

removed the test attack Ai.. didnt like it.

also no more obvious crash bugs. please still keep an eye out for ingame crashes, and odd unit behavior.

HotFix. i knew their would be crashes =P

i fixed 4 files. each of wich on its own, would cause a crash.

lets see if theirs any more.

I'd just like to take a moment to talk about what an undertaking it is, to get HW1 units working the way they use to, while also keeping the races balanced with out changing to much..
that said ive got the HW1 strike craft working properly, they way they use to, and they aren't getting stomped into the ground, now the trick is to balance them vs HW2 units.
So The Gloves are coming off.. its time to get Cereal guys.

(A LOT more work actually went into this one than meets the eye)

-Fixed an old relic bug where the HGN defense field frigate gun never fired. Now has the ability to fire at fighters. though not very accurately.

-Increased Repair rate for docked ships on all races carriers, motherships, and shipyards. to match the increase in HP, it should not Repair ships at the same speed as Vanilla HW2, even though these ships have more HP.

-Gave HW1 Fighters their own Attack family (this took ages).
with this framework in place i can more accurately balance the 2 races ships and weapons. i can also have separate attack profiles.
for example i have have HW2 fighters Dog-fighting HW1 fighters while still doing "fighter pass/strafe style" attacks vs HW2 units.

-Kush Interceptor and Hiig Interceptors have prototype HW1 style dogfight AI, i will remove this soon in a hotfix, i just want to see what my AI does.

-additional fine balance tweaks for HW2 vs HW1 units. and vice versa.

-VGR destroyer Attack Ai changed to Frontal instead of Broadside... why? cuz it looks better.. idk.. felt like it. (but seriously, someday ill add an Easter egg, and it may or may not have something to do with reactivating something that was cut from the game)
This doesn't affect game play at the moment.

their is a high chance of bugs, please report any crashing (aside from normal MP crashes), along with what race or unit/thing you were doing at the time of the crash.
please also report any weapons having 100% accuracy or simply not firing or being able to attack HW1 fighters. i may have missed 1 or 2 in my edits. again SOOOO MANY files were edited....

When i was editing the Missile Destroyers weapons, i forgot to edit the missiles themselfs to be more effective vs frighters and corvettes, and less effective vs capitals.

This has been corrected.

i also noticed that the heavy corvettes Flak ability did jack all aginst fighters. i have also corrected that Gearbox quality bug lol.

@ gearbox, i know i bash on you guys alot, but i still love you for remastering Homeworld and making it.. now make HW3 please!!!!! =)

New Armor family for HW1 strike craft added, strikecraft changed to "Unarmoured_hw1"
Flak frigates/missile corvettes weapons calibrated to new HW1 fighter armor family, so flak vs HW2 units aren't 1 shooting squads, but still remain effective vs HW1 strike craft.

Resource Collector and controllers for HW1 movement speed increased.
-build time decreased.
-on average hw1 Resourcer ships still take around 50% longer, and about half their movement speed.
the ability for HW1 players who went Strikecraft to counter the Gravity well rush, by kamikaze a collector into it, like in HW1 has been restored because of this veloicty change.. im also sure you guys are happy you get your controllers out slightly faster too, especially when the HW2 guys are building theirs 4 at a time..

Taii/Kush Multigun corv pen vs corvettes lowered by an additional 25%, to encourage and reflect MGC's role as an anti-fighter corv.
Hopefully this helps the still semi-lopsidedness of the HW1 corvettes vs their HW2 counter-parts.

Also Played with Tuning and weapons abit more, found a few Gearbox bugs between what are suppose to be equal units, and corrected them.

But the million dollar question is, Coding off 48 hours of no sleep, WILL IT CRASH?
lets find out shall we?

Additional fixes/tuning to HW2 weapons vs new HW1 fighters.


Decreased Kush/taii Missile destroyer's standard attack effectiveness vs capitals. They were Anti strike craft in HW1 not anti everything.
(the volley ability is still a good anti capital ability)

Doubled Missile Destroyers ROF and Halved damage.

Missile Destroyer Volley recharge time cut in half, new time is 30 seconds.
(this was done because of the change to the Standard attacks, MDs will still be dangerous to caps. at-least when they volley)

Fixed Velocity issues with Taiidan Missile destroyer missiles, they now Mirror the Kunshans Missile Speed (nice job gearbox, im still finding your bugs everywhere i look, even after all the patches....)
