Faction craft for custom campaign

Campaign notes:
This is a campaign that features ships inspired by those used from WW2 till roughly current day.
The only rules are that lasers aren't really used as anything outside of AA and that realism with actual design is somewhat important.
Aesthetics aren't very important and performance is extremely flexible (pretty much nothing that destroys most godly crafts for a substantial amount less) even with that said, I'll happily make exceptions.

Current campaign concept: Neter's Edge (Name open for suggestion)
As Neter appears to be flat I thought it would be interesting to imagine it as a large disk. This campaign takes place towards the edge in an extremely resource rich region above the territory of the SS and TG that's remained isolated from central Neter. The campaign features three factions created by groups who splintered off from the original steel empire with one faction based around trade, another based around resources and the last based around science living in constant threat of conflicts between them. The campaign takes place after the events of Neter and Rambot's total control of central Neter.
